"Running" my 8

"Running" my 8
I have a question. I just rolled over to 1500 miles and I took it light on the car up until about 600 miles. Now I find myself wanting to run the car harder. I noticed that the best pick-up on speed is around 6000 rpm's. I run the car pretty hard, at least it seems like I do, and after I do sometimes I kinda feel guilty because I love this car so much, I just dont want to "hurt" it. However, someone told me that these cars were designed and built to run hard. Is this true or should I not run the car hard?
Thanks for any replies

Get used to revving that pretty little thing up..I regularly approach 9.5 on the RPMs...Its a Rotary, loves to be revved..Dont worry about hurting her, thats why the car is "governed"..you shouldnt really be able to hurt it unless you're cruising around at like 8k rpm....Enjoy and Welcome to the Club.
