You can paint them your self or take this to the dealer.

That seems to be a real problem with Mazda cars. Next time you're in a Mazda showroom, check out the cars and you'll see that most, if not all, have the rust. I removed my rotors, cleaned them up and painted them with G2 high-temp paint. Makes a big difference in my opinion because of the open areas of the RX-8's wheels the rust is very visible. I also mentioned the "problem" in a survey conducted for/by Mazda on the RX-8 and suggested they use a higher-quality paint on the rotors.

Apparently, the rusty rotors don't bother some people. I did a little judging at a recent club car show and nearly all the cars had rusty rotors, some with a LOT of it. Dinged them pretty bad for that. :D

Just have them paint or replace the whole thing. I told them, I didn't like the rust on the rotors hubs and wanted it to be painted. An hour later, they call me back and tell me that instead of going through all that, they were ordering new ones and replacing them :D And do they look pretty, the way its supposed to have looked when I bought the car (although, I had very little rust on mine).

Unfortunately, with the paint used on the rotors, the rust will almost certainly return. In which case, spend a little quality time with your car, remove the rotors, clean/sand the painted sections and paint them with G-2 high-temp caliper paint. (The G-2 kit is a little pricey, but it includes everything you need to properly prepare and paint a set of calipers or the rotors.) Might want to paint the calipers while you're at it. Good way to spend a weekend day.
