RX-8 or 350Z?

The 20b puts down so much HP and tq you have to replace the entire driveline. Price is not just the engine, but everything else you need to make it work. People are blowing our transmissions with the stock ~180 hp, what do you think will happen when you are pushing 400 - 600+ hp?
If you do it on the cheap (not a good idea) you could probably get away with $30,000. But it would probably be a hack job.
Look at the 20b swap thread(s) for more info.

I won't bother responding to the fluzies that keep trying to argue when they have no point... I said what I said and have yet to be proved wrong. No moron comment or "This has been asked a million times" etc posts don't disprove my previous statements.
Alright, I checked out the sites some people gave and turns out I can get a decent 3 rotor for about 12,000 bucks. It doesnt' come with turbo but is performance tuned. Guy estimates 400 horses. I know about the drive train and such that needs to be replaced along with some joints to the tires and axles, etc. I believe the one that is stock can handle up to 300 horses to the wheels so a 400 horse engine should result in major upgrades. That is anticipated... I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I have made my choice. The RX8 out performs the Nissan in everyway but 1/4 mile. In fact in the first 2 1/2 gears the rx8 accels faster than the nissan. If stock a standard 5-7 boost turbo would easily fix that. But I am not looking for an expensive rice burner now am i?

O yea, I am done with this thread. I got all the info I need and contacts made. 20b engine drop will be done eventually and the stock engine is perfect for what I want for now. More parts will be added to this car in time. estimated 20,000 bucks for engine parts added to the 20b. Not an overnight project, obviously. Hurry for inflation and minimum wage!

To the OP. I'm in the same boat. Trying to decide 350z or RX-8. I'm leaning towards the 8. IMO the fun of driving is turning not going straight. I'm driving a car now that has plenty of horsepower and torque (mazdaspeed6) which is great off the line, but just not my idea of a fun ride.
BTW check out www.my350z.com More info then you’ll ever want to know about the 350.

$20,000 for 3 Rotor engine plus $23k-$30k for the RX-8 why not just buy a Corvette or a Cayman, now if you just have to buy a RX-8 and fix it so it will run faster, its your dime. Do it your way. If you are willing to spend that much money into a RX-8 thats what you wanted in the 1st place, but the RX-8 and fix it up, post pictures so we can see how bad a$$ it looks
