Good evening members. I'm new to the board, and tonight I was at a gas station. While pulling out, I unfortunately hit a RX-8 owner with my 5-series. Owner of the vehicle was very understanding, I gave him all of my information. I looked at the damage, and the right (passenger) side of the bumper was completely smashed in. Headlights were intact and working fine.

He was willing to sort it out, so my insurance premium wouldn't go up. However, I made this post to see if somebody could tell me how much a new RX-8 bumper would go for? How about a used one, if he resorted to that.

Any input is appreciated.

 

im not sure. but i can tell you that if you search around you could find a price easily. In fact, there is a bumper in the for sale thread now.

 

Ya, I'm not to sure if the owner will be cool about getting a bumper from a different state, especially since he can't inspect it first hand. I remember, my hit a Toyota Camry '97 in the same manner, and it costed him around $1,200. I'm definitely not looking forward to seeing how much this will cost with parts & labor.

 

Yeah, thats true. Put a feeler for WTB in the for sale thread to see if anyone around your location has a bumper.

 

a new bumper painted cost more than 1K.

u might want to ask him to have it check at some shop see what kind of damage you actually did to his car. (you should be there too)

 

Have the whole car resprayed.

Im not a fan of blending.

Someone backed into the side of mine. Velocity Red, really not a big fan of blending a paint with a pearl.

Cant wait to get back in town and get the whole car resprayed.
