RX-8 Air Valve Cover

So I walk out this Saturday morning and I notice that my tire valve covers are all missing. Some than *** must had taken them. I realize its not a major thing but the fact that someone was messing with my car is what pissed me off. I do have a back up set, that I put on , but I'm going to get in the habit of taking them off at night.

I cranked mine down a little bit with a pair of pliers (with a paper towel wrapped around it, so it didn't scratch)….heck, that way if those losers are going to steal them, they need to at least put a little work into it

Are you using metal valve stem covers when you do that? If you have tpms sensors, that sounds like a good way to break them. Otherwise, who would want the shitty plastic ones that come standard?

I switched back to rubber covers years ago for this reason. Got a story on VW caps that went missing, then seeing it on a neighbors kid's bike. He claimed he found them...found the pair said he.

Then had a chat with his father...

Now I was wondering could it be someone that has an RX-8 or what? I mean I wouldn't touch someone else RX-8. A person that drive the same car as you, never. It wouldn't look good on another make of car.

i just bought those fancy rotor shaped caps. im sure they will be slolen eventually. ive seen those " anti theft" ones that have a lock mechanism inside. i was wondering if it were possible to remove the loch mechanism and place it in the new ones i got? i figured a set screw would be good, but it doesnt come with it. do they sell something to add to them so no one can take them? i know its a lot of work for 20$ caps, but i love my car and treat it well. lol

my shiny chrome ones got stolen too.
i've replaced them with metal black ones, so far so good.
i guess the chrome really attracts attention.
even tho' both are abt same price.
