No problem

Aside from a whole lot of happy owners on this board and a whole lot of posts to prove it, check out this thread:

Reasons to not purchase an 8...

I dunno, had mine for 3 weeks and can't find one yet.

The M-flash eliminates the whole flooding thing so don't let that bother you.

The 8 doesn't flood that was old news. I havent heard of 1 person that had theirs flood since the M and L flash. Considering if you bought a new one it would have the M you are fine.

I think you should pick another car instead of the 8.
All the other users on this forum will advise you the same.

What other car would you consider? It really depends on your taste. I've had my RX-8 for almost 15 months -- best decision for me.

Enjoy whatever you decide to get, but realize there is no good reason not to get the RX-8.

Don't get the 8... get a 350z or a g35. I am selfish.

get the 8. all those problems have been addressed, and things get a bit blown out of proportion on this board. it's a great car.

Dont get the 8, the less of them I see the longer mine will seem special :-) Seriously, the only reason to not get the 8 is the MPG or the HP. If you really want HP wait for the 05 stang.

remember its still new model. so there were going to be problem with it. which is normal for just about any first year car. i cant give a reason for not getting it. just do a test drive. sleep on it (if your not too excited) then go back the next day and get it. see problem solved

I've got an 05 and just to let you know I've been BAD about short trips and engine temp. Just this last weekend I washed it down(backed out of the driveway, off.. backed back in, off.

then I took it out for a ton of pictures and As we were moving the cars around I would have the engine on for times as short as 20 seconds, then back off again. I kept forgetting about it/hoping it wouldnt flood.. and it hasnt yet.

The 8 is great- and the fact that they havn't changed a whole lot from the 2004-2005 should show that even though it is a new model, the problems that have been encountered have been very minor.
