RX-8 Black Box?
The following article deals with Black Box's in vehicles, and the concerns thereof. Made me curious, does the RX-8 have these? If so, I wonder how accurate they are.

I recall reading a detailed article on this topic some time ago, which listed the cars with the "Black Box" and Mazda was not one of the manufacturers that had adopted this feature.

I love how when the ERD said the guy was driving 80 in a 55 and caused the death of someone, it was correct, yet when the car driven by a police officer was in an acciident and the box said he was doing 70, it was in error...

the vehicle can have freeze frame data plus log some other stuff. so if you have an issue and you take the car in they can check the freeze frame data to see everythign the car was doing when the issue occured. helps them diagnose but can also help them decide whether it will be covered by warrenty
