I used to drive a Protege 5 and then thought, what the hell company pays for 80% of the car, why not get something I love.
I was making about $3-4K per year profit on the protege with my company allowance.
Now I get to drive the car I love and it costs me about $1K per year. Really cant complain at that. I get about 20 mpg average as most of my driving is hwy

my 8 is also collecting dust at the workshop :D
in the past 12 months, it has only travelled just over 3,700km and had 2 services
its great to have a 2nd/3rd car to get you places.... :p

Why not buy another 8 to compliment your primary car, your rx-8? Come on, I'm sure there's got to be another paint color that you debated getting..
Edit: On second thought, I plan on driving my 8 til it explodes anyway.

I usually drive my new 8 to work and on errands, but we've been catching some very heavy rains out here in California lately (and there's no end in sight), so I've been taking the Exploder lately to run errands, etc. Just down the street the creek and storm drains over flowed (as they do during every heavy rain) and that portion of the street is covered in mud. Will I drive my 8 threw that mess?! No way!

I have 2 other vehicles to choose from for work or bad weather drvining. I always check the weather radar and will not take the 8 out if it looks like rain. Last night it actually got some dew on it will out eating!
Seriously, I only drive it in dry weather except for my summer weekend trips to the lake, then its rain or shine.
