Rx-8 discontinued???
I heard that 2005 is most likely the last year for the 8 because of lack of overall interest in a 29,000 dollar mazda.. does anyone know if this is true? If it is we will all be the few that own such a great car!

His tone doesn't sound like he's a troll..."If it is we will all be the few that own such a great car!"
...maybe he actually DID hear this somewhere (false, of course)...let the man speak!

Haha....you guys are relentless! (and funny :D ) I think Catch22 was actually serious with the comment...but Catch...have you been reading the moto mags and paying attention to the extreme interest in the 8? Not a snowballs chance will Mazda give up on the renesis 8...it's the best thing they've produced in ages, and the sales figures to prove it. No, this is not just another Delorean (sorry to hear of the guy's demise, btw)

Man, some of you guys can be harsh. I can see why a lot of newer people don't come back to the site.
Either way, whether it's true or not, if you've already got yours, why would you even care?

Maybe he meant for Catch-22 to read it.

Let's see, Mazda has sold more RX-8's in the U.S. alone in the first year, than it sold of the 3rd gen RX-7 in it's entirety in this country. The Renesis has been international engine of the year for 2 years. Mazda has returned to racing rotaries again in LeMans with a 3 rotor engine based off of the Renesis engine in the RX-8, the Formula Mazda cars use the RX-8 engine, Mazda still advertises it, Mazdaspeed is working on an upgrade model, etc...
Yup it looks like it's gone.

I am not an expert on auto sales, but in my country, we have to wait for an RX-8 six months. If you order it today, you will receive in October. Anyhow, I do hope they continue to build them for a while.
