u only lost 500 bucks in resell, and it's obvious u had no patience.
14k is not under "book" the book is wrong, this is a living market. according to the US Black Book, which is much more accurate, a base model rx8 04 was worth only 11kish. but kelly would put it up at 13k.

ok, how about the:
noise the engine makes at idle
9.5k rpms
the smoothness of the engine
how comfortable it is
how practical it is with having 4 REAL seats, but it has them in kind of a stealthy way, since some people dont notice it really has 4 doors
i could go on, but im tired and i should get some sleep, 13hour work day tomorrow, and worked 12 today. anyways, obviously you didn't like it and you make rash un-educated decisions, i hope your more careful, and do more research next time you buy a car. i love my 8, nothing quite like it.. thats really what you should miss, Its UNIQUENESS... i can't think of another car that has suicide doors besides the rolls royce phantom. nothing quite sounds like it... and there is no other car on the market that revs to 9k so smoothly.... and no car on the market which goes to 9.5k from the factory...

I think you missed the entire point of owning an RX8. I don't understand why you even bought the car if you don't like how it has low torque, didn't you test drive it? 500 dollar loss isn't even that much on a stealership trade in.
I kinda understand your complaints but you can't call this car crappy just because you didn't like some of its lows. Don't you ever feel a sort of "attachment" to your car? Its like love!
What are you going to get next?

There is no way this guy is even real. Just some random jerk on the site to pull everyones chain. I'm sensing something...could it be...someone here reaks of 350z. If someone was that ignorant before buying a car I feel little sympathy for them. Can thousands of happy owners be wrong...yes. Can one person be more ignorant and assnine than the culmination of people in the world. Yes. Could it be this man. Yes. Is pie better than cake. Of course. And a good day to you sir. I SAID A GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR!

Thinking about getting a GSR Evo. That way I don't have to pretend my car is fast.

Hey, I just wanted to say im sorry, and I honestly feel terrible for you. You must live a very uninteresting, lonely, life with your lab layla who is the only thing on this planet that actually acknowledges your existence. I feel bad in a sense that you have nothing better to do than to come onto this forum and start talking trash for your own personal amusement. The same amusement you get when you cry at night and use your tears as lubricant to please yourself, it just gets your rocks off.
At this juncture of time, your probably huddled around your cheap used laptop with your dog waiting for another pissed off member to write back to your idiotic comments about how your vagina hurts.
Your all butt hurt because you cant afford a quart of oil with your low income and you cant get laid. So you use the whole 'lack of torque' arguement to justify your decisions and comments when really you know this is a great car, you just couldnt afford it. Which is FINE!! But you dont need to ridicule everyone else for it. I would give you the typical, buy a hemi comment, but I know the truth. The truth that youre worthless to society and couldnt afford even a hemi.
Now that we clearly understand each other, why dont you find some other source of entertainment, because were onto you and your making yourself look like even more of an idiot than we all thought you were.
Good day sir.

rotary engines have several major advantages over reciprocating piston designs, in addition to having higher output for similar displacement and physical size.
- engines are considerably simpler and contain far fewer moving parts. The elimination of these parts not only makes a rotary engine much lighter (typically half that of a conventional engine of equivalent power), but it also completely eliminates the reciprocating mass of a piston engine, producing not only a smoother flow of power but also the ability to produce more power by running at higher rpm.
- The engine is constructed with an iron rotor within a housing made of aluminium, which has greater thermal expansion. This ensures that even a severely overheated rotary engine cannot seize, as would likely occur in an overheated piston engine.
- Of perhaps the most importance is that rotary engines are almost immune to catastrophic failure.
oh and to speak of the oil use...
All Mazda-made Wankel rotaries, including the new Renesis found in the RX8, burn a small quantity of oil by design; it is metered into the combustion chamber in order to preserve the apex seals. Owners must periodically add small amounts of oil, slightly increasing running costs—though it is still reasonable when compared to many reciprocating piston engines.
I suggest you read the f* manual. Better yet you have your license revoked as you obviously have no clue of how to use/maintain/handle a car.

I am not a troll. Just frustrated.
I can afford gas. I make good money, just hate to feel up a car and get nothing in return for it. The car handled exceptionally well, but that is about it.
You guys tell me the truth. Besides handling and a very good looking car, what in the hell should I miss about it?

The engine uses oil to lubricate the engine by design, 10 minutes of research would have told you that before you bought the car. You'd think an investment like a car made you look into it? And what is the big problem with a car using oil? If you bought a new DVD player and the remote needed it's batteries changed more often you wouldn't trade in your DVD player would you? How hard is it to pour some oil on now and then? My mom could do that.
The attitude of people here surprise me sometimes, and makes me wonder what it's like on the streets in the US. I'll admit I like a fast car myself, and at one point you want extra power, but it strikes me as odd that nobody seems to ask what you need to do to improve handling even more, it's always straight-line speed. I sold my '04 RX-8 GT for $15,000 in April. It had 58K miles. I had a few mods, it was a good deal for me and the buyer was happy.
The RX-8 was a fun car that was always a pleasure to drive. Like the Cadillac commercial, when you turn your car on, does it return the favor? The RX-8 ALWAYS returned the favor for me.
I had it on the track, the drag strip and autocross a few times a year. And it was my DD for four years.
The balance and finesse of the car always impressed me. It is a great car to push to the limits because the limits are so high, it almost has none, well almost.
I had the catalytic converter replaced under warranty in 2004. Had all the TSBs, recalls, regular maintenance, etc. NEVER had a problem besides the cat. I know other people have had problems, I had NONE in 4 years.
I see these people coming in here all the time talking about the 2004s and 2005s and all the problems they have heard about. Some have had problems, a few have had major problems. Most have not had problems and many, such as myself have had YEARS of problem free ownership. With human nature, you are going to hear more about the problems and from the complainers than you are about the positive or trouble free.
The RX-8 uses oil. So what, it is by design. My weed eater uses oil. My leaf blower uses oil. That is the way the engines are designed.
The RX-8 gets poor gas mileage. It IS a sports car after all. There are plenty of OTHER cars out there that get good gas mileage. Most sports cars do not.
What the RX-8 is, is a fun car with plenty of available amenities, decent fit and finish and a blast to push to the limits on the track or autocross or whatever your pleasure might be. It is not the cheapest, it is not the fastest, it does not get the best gas mileage.
The RX-8 was on the C&D 10 best list for a few years. Why? Because it is a fun, well balanced sports car with usable back seats that is relatively inexpensive and a good value. What the RX-8 needs now is an upgrade and facelift to stay competitive. Including an upgrade the the power, but I digress. Perhaps the 16X will take care of this.
