RX-8 Maintenance & Mechanics
Hi,
I'm new here. BMW owner, thinking about possibly getting a RX-8. I was interested in getting a RX-7 before I got my M3, but I just couldn't find any around my area at a decent price. Anyways, after taking a look at a RX-7 a few months ago, I realized that there's way too much maintenance involved with that car, and there aren't too many mechanics out there that are willing to fix the car.
So, here's my question (I don't know if this has been talked about on here or not). But have they built the RX-8 so it's more mechanically friendly and easier to maintenance? Will mechanics be willing to work on it? Have they resolved a lot of the problems that they had on the RX-7? Sorry if I sound stupid, but this is a serious question that I don't know that answer to. The rotary is something a lot of people don't want to touch because they don't have the knowledge as to how to fix problems for it.

Welcome to the party, Edboc!
Yes, yes and absolutely yes, which was due to an overengineered sequential turbo system mixed with an inferior radiator/cooling system designed to save weight.
The current Renesis engine is holding up very well in the Mazda Star racing series.

However, I have every confidence that Mazda has got this one right.
