Hey - I resemble that comment! Electrical engineer, ham-radio operator. That makes me a geek and a dork I think! I guess that's why my domain is dorkage.com.

Card carrying nerd here, yes, all the geeks I work with love my car. Everyone has a Wankle Experience or piece of trivia to share... I am not talking about your average techs here, I am talking uber-geeks and nerdlingers of the highest (lowest) order.

Several are considering buying an 8 now... oh well, hopefully the ratio of Z's to 8's doesnt get lopsided to the 8 now.

If you ever saw me... "nerd" would be the last thought entering your mind.

Mind you I do have some geeky tendancies :D

Physicist/Engineer here, working currently in IT. So I guess that makes me a nerd... altho I'm athletic, like to do lots of un-nerd-like activites, and have a beautiful wife - and I've never owned a pocket protector or pair of pants that are too short. So kinda unnerdlike too. But regardless, I think I left that term behind many years ago, when I ceased caring what anyone wants to label me. :D

30 years ago, it was Porsche rear-motor aircooleds for RICH nerds, Volvos and Saabs for almost-rich, yet still very nebbish nerds, and vw beetles for those who Refused to Conform, but had Little Money.

The 8 appeals to my geekiness in multiple levels. It's a tech wunderkind. It's an electronic wunderkind (save for that atrocity which is Bose.).. it WILL take a nerd to correct that problem, it'll need a new center console casting, etc.

But visually, the 8 appeals to me on a different level -- an artistic one. I see a lot of Italian influence, such as long-hood-short-deck and arching fenderlines, but the sheer LOOK of the car is pure anime, pure Japanese Gen-X :D To me it looks like a really pissed off anime cat.. and that's fine with me :D

Make mine winning blue, skunk stripe her with a warmish yellow, and call her Mahoro.

Pocket protector?

Dude. Wrong century. :p

I don't know what makes computer techs any more nerdy than, say, auto mechanics. The best mechanics have always been analytical and the 2 fields converge more and more as time goes on.

Fire Control Radar Engineer.
If it flys, crawls, or swims, I can target it, track it and kill it.
