Several times I've had teenagers yell "Nice car!" as I drove by.

It's pretty much a daily experience. Some day it may get annoying.

"Stop looking at me!"

Oh wait, never mind.

The ancint Greeks believed that for any object there was a perfect form and the closer you came to this ideal the better your creation - both Porsche and the RX-8 have approched that ideal - I still prefer, regardless of price the RX-8 to that glorified Volkswagon.

When I first got my 8 in March last yr I could not believe all the attention it got (Still laugh about the guy who walked into a pole). Not quite so much now as there a lots more around .
We should be thankfull that the car gets bad gas mileage & is not as quick as an 350Z , evo or STI . Fix those two things & it would outsell all those others combined making it as common as muck.

LoL...now that might be just a TAD bit over the foolishly optimistic point-of-view!

Sometimes people with performance cars come to my job and talk to me about it. Then there's a bunch of people that ask me what it is. Once I was getting gas one night and there were a bunch of teenagers standing around by the pumps. I pulled in and got out to pump my gas and a "scout" ran over and looked at it and shouted back "it's a Mazda." The he kept staring at it kind of dumbfounded and finally asked what it was. I told him it's an RX8, and he was like "I thought I'd never see one of those." He and his friends kept their eyes glued to it as I pulled out.

I think people don't think they can afford it because it looks like a car that should sticker for at least $50k. We should be glad Mazda decided to let us steal it away for under $30k.
