RX-8 Registry

RX-8 Registry
I mentioned this in another thread, but I thought it might get better exposure here.
Has anyone thought of creating a website that could serve as an RX-8 Registry. I used to have information for each of my RX-7's listed on one. I just went to that site and it is now a dead link.
The site simply captured the VIN and name of the owner (future owner in this case) in a "fill in" type form and then sorted based on the sequence of the VIN. It might be cool to have a few other columns of information such as color, transmission, etc. I would create one myself but its not my cup of tea.

The VINs aren't quite right yet, I believe people added themselves before they had the actual VIN. But you get the idea.

yep... http://rx8owner.com/
The email group was created back in 2001, but the website has only been up a few months now.
You can actually already list yourself on the registration page by entering a temporary vin of 17 digits starting with JM. Or simply JMXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX works fine. You will get a password sent to you enabling you to enter the real vin later, or to make changes to your registration.
Cheers

P.S. Someone asked about privacy. This is a website made available for rotary enthusiasts BY rotary enthusiasts for our future enjoyment , and to keep encouraging the "rotary is unique" culture. So, don't worry about your information being distributed. Your email addr and other stuff will always be held private. This is just a way for RX-8 owners to get to know other RX-8 owners.

Ian:
Do you also control the Yahoo mail group? The "Specs" page that was sent upon registering with the mail group is WAY out of date. Circa 2001!
Thanx for the registry! (Happy 100th today Mr. Bob Hope)

hey Ian,
Why do your registry site required the input of street address? I realized that I can just fib the info, but I'm just curious. You're not going to sell the info to telemarketer are you?

Because if you don't put in your real address, you wont get your free copy of the upcoming RX-8 Magazine. I suppose we can get people to provide the info later if they want the mag. Just seemed natural to get it all in one shot.
Now if you're running from the FBI, or DEA, or IRS, then just enter...
Your Name
000 Bogus Ave.
Noplace, FU. 12345
No selling of information. I hate that anyway. I PROMISE.
