RX-8 Sightings....They're Everywhere........

I don't know about other parts of the country but the RX-8 seems to be selling very well around here. I am starting to see A LOT of these things. Sunday I stopped in at Walgreens, and there were 3 of us in the parking lot. That's out of a total of about 10 cars. Today I saw 2 blacks, a red, and a yellow, and I wasn't even out much today

Just an observation. How is it in other cities?

I'm seeing a lot more here. There is even another Yellow 1.5 blocks away and I never see them on the road or even outside for that matter, I noticed it parked in the garage and it looks to have no miles on it. At least I can still claim the only Yellow 8 on the roads around Destin. There is 1 Red, 1 Black, 1Blue, 2 Titanium, and that other Yellow that I know of around here but there could be many more that I don't see.

I've been driving 130 miles of some of NJ's busiest roads (202, 287, 10) every day for a week. Seen thousands upon thousands of cars. Dozens of 350Zs, G35s, couple Vipers, Ferraris, 911s, BMWs, Mercs...

And NO RX-8s. Nada. None.

Nor have I seen more than maybe 3 parked 8's in the three months I've owned the car.

Imagine my shock when I saw a silver one parked in the local Mobil station here (New Hope, PA) yesterday. One wonders if he/she is on the forum.

Exclusive? Heck, it's darn near unique

Well I live in Nebraska, you'd be lucky to see one on the street. Especially since I live near the boonies. A co-worker saw his first one in a town 20 miles out, but it had Virginia plates.. so there ya go.

I travel a lot of NJ roads like 287 I 78, and I 80. I see rx8s all the time now. They are a highly produced car, so as long as they keep making them, we'll be seeing a ton of them. Still plenty of 04 rx8s left to sell, and once the 05 comes out, hopefully it will sell good, and they'll be all over. I tend to see them when I am driving my STI to work, not as many with the rx8 though. I'd imagine there were not as many stis produced. although if I add up all Impreza cars, I see them all the time.

I've had my RX8 since February and I've only seen one other in my town of Ogden, UT. That is until yesterday, I saw a red one fresh off the lot with dealer tags still on it.

I drive quite a bit down to MD and up to North Jersey. After seeing two within a week of buying my car, in the last four weeks+ I saw *one* parked yellow last weekend in Laurence Harbor, NJ. That's it. Seen about 15 S2000s, tons of Zs, no freaking 8's at all! I know they're out there, I must be missing them by mere feet every time. Not like it's not a noticeable car or anything.

I saw a silver 8 on the Rt30 Bypass heading east this morning. Gave them a nod and a wave -- no response Same thing happened going home one night. I saw a woman in a black 8 heading west on 30. I gave her the thumbs up. Like Yukon Cornelius said "Nothin'!"

My wife says I intimidate people. Maybe I scared them?

There was a 3 or 4 day period, including a weekend, that I saw 3 or 4 black 8s, a couple of grays, a red and a silver. Most either did not notice or did not acknowledge, but one pulled up, rolled her window down and we chatted at a light. Outside of that overloaded timeframe, I haven't seen any 8s on the road or parked.

For the locals...my sightings were on Delaware Ave (Columbus Blvd) near the Superfresh in South Philly, on I95 between Center City and Woodhaven Road, and along 611N in Horsham/Willow Grove.

Ciao,
Marc

Not too many here in Cocoa Beach/CapeCanaveral/Merritt Island areas of Florida. It is nice being the only one around and I have never seen another red like my beauty since I've had mine (3500 miles on mine now). Actually I have only seen 3 (2-titanium, 1 black) ever around here. I get looks all the time. I get people passing me then slow down to see what kind of car it is. People back up while were stopped at a stop light to see what kind of car. I feel like I'm driving the first one off the assembly line.

Hopefully I won't see too many emerge around here like the rest of the country....

Indeed! I've been seeing more and more as the weeks pass. Over the weekend I saw three in 80 miles. During the week though I see a handful of regulars on the commute to and from work.

haven't seen to many in the Toronto area. I know they exist, have seen maybe 4 on the road while in my 8 or not(over the last 3 months).. There is a lot of everything else (350's, g35's) but that's it.
