RX-8 SR Motorsports Exhaust?

Has anyone purchased the SR Motorsports Exhaust? Likes,Dislikes?

I am thinking about purchasing that exhaust. I like the other products they offer. I know there pricey, but there cc is awesome and their products.

I have their cold intake. NICE

Thanks

I have thier exhaust. It is well built, with a good sound; not too loud, but you know its there.

Yes, I have the intake, exhaust and pulleys. I had the SR midpipe until it fell apart (after about 20k miles). I now use the RP 'Supercat'.

Yes, the tips turn colors, but they do that on pretty much all exhaust tips. You have to clean them. Attached is a picture of the tips that I took back in December (this is after 2 years and 20k miles).

They don't look bad at all! I appreciate the pic, that is perfect. I am about to order the pulley's but I aslo read that it activates a warning signal on the dash. Also you have to to do other things to trick the computer. I am a little hesitant on that. you know?

What do you think?

The pulleys really dont add much as far as hp. They will get you about 2 extra. As far as throwing CEL's, I have never thrown a CEL with any of my parts except when the SR cat fell apart and started to inhibit airflow. Never had to "trick" the computer either.

If SR's GT3/4 Package really gives that much horsepower, then Mazda has hobos engineering for them. I've found SR to be ridiculously overpriced as well. Their pulleys might be worth it, since I haven't seen any other store with RX-8 pulleys, but otherwise there are better parts to be had for less elsewhere.

I installed my SR exhaust last weekend. I am very impressed with the sound. I have there cold intake and now there exhaust. They both work very well together.

One thing that I notice is a litte gargle or backfire from 1st to 2nd andto 3rd, has anyone else had that issue? Maybe its an install mess up?

Maybe its releasing so much air that its sucking it back in?

Thanks!

This is normal, all rotaries backfire the stock exhaust just hides it very very well. All aftermarket exhausts do this.

Yeah, I have the pullies (& flywheel), don't bother the pullies are a waste of money. You get very little hp gain. You are much better off getting a hi-flow cat. If you insist on pullies the Unorthodox Racing units at mazdaparts.com are much cheaper, but like I said the difference between stock & aftermarket is very small.
