RX-8 value

What do you consider the most valuable RX-8? One that is absolutely stock, or one that has been modified. I realize that there is a lot of variables to modifications including relatively simple things like different wheels, different front seats, exhaust systems (likely louder), etc.

But, what about stuff that really digs into the inner working such as add-on turbo chargers, modified suspensions, aftermarket stereo systems, etc?

Think in terms as if you were out looking for a very good RX-8. Would you prefer (value) a well cared for, truly original (stock) RX-8, or... ? Would you pay more for an all original RX-8?

I paid a premium for mine, an unmolested 2004 with 23k on it 2 years ago (32K on it now).

I will not buy a car with mods, as I have found no one to be as immaculate as myself and I do not want to deal with anything.

Mods reflect the personal taste of the owner. If they add any value to the car, the amount is less than what was spent doing them.

If I were to buy a used car, I would not want one that the previous owner had modified.

I would buy one with a really nice body kit if done well . Mainly because you can see what you are getting and that stuff can be damn expensive . Mechanical mods ... not so much .

Part of the fun of buying a "new" used car is doing all the mods yourself. OEM blank canvas and then you can choose whatever it is you want to add to her.

Slight mods are fine, like the ones in the first $100 thread. Its good to know the previous owner cared for it enough to do his homework.
