RX-8 vs 350z
I know the rx-8 isnt out yet and no real hard data or specs of the rx-8 has been released (well at least to the best of my knowledge)...but just judging from appearance, POSSIBLE specs, comfort, ergonomcis, so fourth, what cars would you guys choose...ahhah prolly some of the answers will be biases hahha

this has already been dicussed ad nauseum and will likely degenerate into a "mazda sucks" and "nissan sucks" shouting match. there are several threads that, if you do a search, will give you most everyone's opinions sprinkled with some hard facts and figures.

I don't think there is much between the TTC (225 or V6), 350, Crossfire or RX8. Similar shapes and market target. What sold me on the RX8 was the shape, 4 seats capacity and price. I have my reservations about the rotary (noise, fuel capacity and torque - I have no experience with this engine and am taking a bit of a punt) but all the write ups I have seen look good.
But with more money and less family then any of the others would probably have done too. I presently own a TTC 225 and love it to bits.

Why don't people compare the RX-8 to the car it is more similar to: the G35 coupe?
The G35 coupe with performance package and 6-speed transmission is essentially a 350Z with a back seat. Prices and features are comparable between a decked out RX-8 and a G35 coupe. The G35 and the 8 would be the best to compare to each other.
But what really gets me is when people start comparing and judging the RX-8 to the 350Z (or the G35 coupe) when they haven't driven either of the cars in question much less driven both of the cars.
It was so strange to see people, in those other threads, argue so strongly about cars they had little to no hands-on experience with.

I was gonna get the G35C, a beautiful car dont get me wrong, I waited for like 6 months for it to come out. Sat in the back, and I got owned. Not enough headroom for me, as I need a car with plenty of room in the back seat (this is the car im gonna be keeping for a long while). Was gonna get the Manual Sedan G35, but it didnt look sporty enough for me. Saw and read about the Rx-8, Sporty + Spacious Room in the back. Thats enough to make my decision, will check out the auto show to see exactly how much space there is the back, and I do pray it has lots of space cause I've been waiting for over a year to buy a new car!

I agree with Zoom44 let's not start another one of these threads.
It WILL turn into a "Mazda sucks" "Nissan sucks" thread.
Intelligent discussion is impossible on the subject. Some of the less literate posters always wind up ruining what could be a good thread.

And the fuel capacity? I haven't seen any numbers ?
(Sorry for hijacking the thread for a little bit here)

RX-8 fuel capacity was listed at 15.9 gallons which is .4 gallons less than the Audi TT's 16.3 fuel capacity.
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/ says that Rael's TT Coupe Quattro gets 23 mpg EPA combined (20/29) and Mazda said that it estimates the RX-8 to get 24 mpg EPA combined. If this is true, the RX-8 may have a slightly longer cruising range than the TT.
