There are some states where UM/UIM does cover property damage, and many policies also offer UMPD (uninsured motorist property damage), so it just depends on your state's laws.

I write in 46 states, and believe me, there can be huge differences between them.

thanks all, I'm trying to get hold of those pics that the insurance took, the damage wasn't that bad, but it really pisses me off that **** like this happen for no reason, not to mention I have never, in my life spun out of control like that.

they called me and said that my front car axle, what ever that thing is called(connects the 2 front wheels together) will have to be replaced, along with most of the stuff in the front left wheel hub, they said all of my underside has been damaged by those damned rocks..........and thanks Huskyfan, I talked to my insurance rep today, he said no matter what, I will have to pay 1000$, the rental is free, and he said that he would call up the construction company(the one that is building the new houses on lemon V Amar) and if they can find the driver, they might be able to reimburse my money later

my car is an 07 automatic, there was nothing I could do, thank god the underside are covered with plastic, my drivetrain is all intact, including the transmission and fuel lines.......

I am very sad about all this, if anyone has any idea how to at least reduce this crap, I would really appreciate it

btw, the pontiac g6 is a huge torque monster, driving that thing really hurts your back, it feels "fast" but isn't.........very sad, and I really want to know one thing

since I am very curious if the M/T would not spin out
my car got hit by a massive stone which fell, with speed and velocity from the gravel truck, which hit the left wheel so hard that basically, parts of the wheel was chipped clean off, which lead my tire to "pop" but did not explode, however, my car spun violently and that is the reason why I can't remember the license plate and can't catch up to him, I want to know, in the same situation, would the MT do the same? because the A/T transmission screws up really bad, was there anything I could have done to still stabilize the car? I am very scared right now, lost faith in my rx-8 and my driving capability

Well the only way to get your deductible back is if the insurance company can get it from the party at fault. The point of the deductible is so that it prevents every little minor claim from being made. The cost of that transaction would be more than the damage itself. It also lowers your premium since you're assuming part of the risk.

I guess for next time (hopefully there is no next time) lower your deductible. But depending on your personal history, location, insurance company, etc...it could increase it by more than just $20...best to talk to your broker.

It's not the 8's fault. See a shrink.

UMPD is an endorsement. Unless it is specifically added onto the policy, it is not applicable.

How in the world did you get authorized to work in 46 states?? Did you apply to each of them?

see if you can file the claim under uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. most insurance will file under that policy for hit and run and it's no deductible and won;t affect your insurance rates.
