Rx-8 vs Montecarlo-350 v8 5.7
I was wondering Would rx-8 beat a montecarlo 350 v8 5.7L.
I do on planing increasing the hp to the Rx-8 when i do happen to get one. Its all cuz my friend is totally in love with his montecarlo and yet he wont dedicate himself to get it running.
Anyhoo feed backplease.

Beat it how? With a stick? With a palm? Sorry for snapping but I'm beginning to hate these kind of questions.. see them all the time..
Do you mean 1/4 mile at a drag strip? On a real track with turns? Street racing? Racing on the hwy? From a roll?

This has to be one of the stranger comparisons I've seen. What's next?
-RX-8 vs. learjet
-RX-8 vs. Case tractor in a stump-pulling contest
-RX-8 vs. a herd of angry elephants

Like I said, I'm sorry for snapping... Just most of the time the "Is car X faster than car Y" question gets posted by young kids/punks that want to street race. Half the time it's a drivers race anyway unless the cars are very mismatched.
As far as I remember if this is a rwd Monte from the late 80's with 180hp/gobs of torque, you might lose a bit off the line but by third gear you should be smoking him. In a straight line. On a real track with turns it won't even be a contest. Provided your friend fixes the car that he "loves" so much, yet it's not in running shape..

The RX-8 isn't about straight line power, it's about HANDLING.
Racing is best left to modded Chevy big blocks, or nice modified rotaries.. but not for this car.

Well, let me take a poke at it. The RX-8 is like a leopard (small, light and full of horsepower), while the Monte is like an elephant (strong, heavy and full of low end power). I think that the leopard would run circles around the elephant. Thus, the RX-8 should win. But if the elephant is sleeping . . .
Thanks for the post.
Thanks for the post.
