What sucks is.....................
MAZDA does not flaunt it.
They should put a big banner on the corporate site building in Calif.
That way the Ford building across the way and Chrysler can see it.
Why would you not want to promote your company considering your a winner?
Ha ha.. could you image being the CEO and going to work looking out at the building near by with a banner like that.
If you got it. Be proud of it.

There was a comment about the motors in the RX-8 that was racing. cost 38,000 to build would last for 50 hours of racing and a rebuild was 8 grand. Apparently that is considered VERY reliable and VERY cheap for RACE CAR parts.

My comment was MORE poking fun at those on this board who just can't seem to get past the fact that high torque and HP are only a part of the Winning equation.

The amount of mis-information floating around is amusing.
The RX-8 GT cars use a tried & trusted 20B PP engine. Basic design of the peripherally ported rotor housings have not changed since Mazda first started racing the 13G triple rotor back in the mid 80's. The Furai also uses the same 20B-PP.
The 20B is from the 90-95 Eunos Cosmo & when modified for this form of racing, they share almost no parts with the 13B-MSP engine on our Rx-8's.
Mazda use the term "Renesis R20B" purely as marketing just like "Renisis 13B" for the RX-8 & it works exceptionally well as can be noted by some of the threads here. The term "Renesis" has nothing to do with the engine from a technical perspective
Unlike our 13B-MSP engines, there is no such things as a 20B-MSP engine, although the concept would be interesting........
Since the 80's the 13G + 20B PP engines have made around the 335kw (450hp) area. With advances in EFI technology, they are good for around 375kw (500hp) now days & far more reliable ( in race conditions ) than any other production engine around.
Congratulations to the Castrol Syntec #70 car for taking out the class win........

ok.. is anybody trying to build a renesis 3 rotor, that way the 2 rotor can be converted and or used for parts?? or should i just add this to the list of what i wanna do.
i think if it can be done for 5k, its worth it.. stay n/a of course
the 5k includes additional fuel and engine management .. a kit
im sure the prototype will be around 10k
but i think its worth it

Many GT 8s will likely be there since Sevenstock is usually just after the last race of the year at Laguna Seca. Look for Furai to be there as well. Sylvain Trembly usually gives a nice slide presentation at Sevenstock Dinner to commemorate the race season. This year's dinner will be EXTRA special.
