RX-8's Awesome Traction...Tight!!!

Don't have the car yet, but I have been checking out this site. Imagine my surprise when I saw the configuration of RX R8TED, which I just ordered from Cali DMV. My first car was a 73 Mazda RX3 which my brother literally built for me from the ground up. It had a 16V under the hood and let's just say that the revenue for the CHP department decreased when I (regrettably) sold it. I have had several cars since then (including another RX3 and an RX2) and don't really understand all of the "technical" stuff, but nothing rides like a rotary. That is what RX R8TED means to me.

Hmmm…this was my first post and I decided to become a registered owner after reading the “mission statement” for this forum. I guess I missed the part about the “rude and crude”. In any event, I was trying to communicate my affection for the car and why. And yes, it was an RX-3 with a 16 V. I am not mechanically inclined, as I stated in my post, but that is what was in it. I can also tell you this, as a 16 year old with her first car, it was all good.

No worries. It is not as if any comments directed at me or anyone else are going to cause me to miss out on great photos, stories and accesories that I am going to have to sneak by my husband once I get my Titanium 8 in a few months. I guess I was raised that if you don't have something nice to say........

I think the rude comments were because your first post made no sense, it was almost like a stream on consciousness or an oddball poem that we were supposed to analyze. Also the cute little tags and forum names with using 8 are a little old so that may be another reason why people were harsh. Also, you're 16 and you have a husband, is that even legal??? By the way, I was raised to speak my mind :D

Also the RX-2 was originally a rotary car and by saying that it had a 16 V engine seems to say that it was a 16 Valve engine would imply that it had been converted from a rotary to a piston engine. The Lame comment was to say that someone had taken the beauty of an RX-2 and turned into something sinister and not rotary. It's the same comment alot of rotary enthusiasts make when they here about a 3rd gen RX-7 getting a 6 cylinder engine for drag purposes. So don't take it too personally and welcome to the club. You will love your RX-8 and great choice in color by the way .

Hey, Ike: Speaking of brutal, I've been meaning to ask you for months now, and no offense, but:
What is your connection with the RX-8? I know you're a WRX man, and everything (not that there's anything wrong with that; my own brother has a WRX wagon and I've driven it a lot and helped him buy it).
So ... what gives? Do you have an RX-8, too? Or you're just bored? I don't get it.
By the way, I agree that this thread started out weirdly. I' still not sure I get it. But I also think it's not cool to diss newbies. And so it goes.

OK; thanks. Makes sense.
I thought about a search, but the terms eluded me. Maybe "why this forum Ike" would work; maybe not. I once saw someone else ask you it before, but somehow I never saw the answer.
Anyway, rock on.

Very funny, you guys. No, but my point is that it's a prepositional idiom. "Into" implies an active motion or action. "Leaving" is a passive act. So, for example, "Ram his face into the dust" and "turn his *** into dust" would both be grammatically correct. "Leaving his *** ON the dirt" would also be ok because the preposition "on" doesn't imply any motion or active force. You can never "leave" anything "INTO" anything.
