Oh yeah. In bumper-to-bumper traffic, it seems that less shifting is involved. Where i'd be going back and forth between 2nd and 3rd constantly in my old inline-4 5spd, I could pretty much leave the rx-8 in 2nd until traffic starts opening up. Sometimes I surprise myself when i realize i've been doing 6000rpm for a good minute and I forgot to upshift because the motor seems so unstressed.
