RX Tuner magazine....what happened?
Ryan...what happened to the RX Tuner magazine. I signed up for a two year subscription around January of 2006...I have since received one issue in my subscription. Is the magazine defunct? Will current subscription holders being receiving any more issues or a possible refund of the balance? What's up?

I've got like one issue in 2 years. They could just send me a magazine full of rx pictures and I'd be happy. Why don't they just don that if they have nothing to talk about.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
I remember 'subscribe' plea and i did on 11/10/2005, got one issue and that's it - kaput. $39 for 2 yr donation receiving total 1 issue . And yes I do appreciate the forum, still what's right has not been done here.
FWIW - why not go the Winding Road approach http://www.windingroad.com/ ? Put it on the web for download as pdf or read it online, cut all paper, printing and mailing costs. It doesn't get any cheaper than that, and I love the fomat. Give us peps who donated access for another period.
If even that small effort can't be made I guess there's nothing to say/look at about the rotary anymore.

If I remember correctly, they used to also have a website.
www.rxtuner.com
I try going to that and just get a blank white page. If I remember correctly, BOOSTD7 was one of the writers/photographers/promoters, if not even one of the head editors of this....am I correct? BOOSTD, do you have any knowledge on the subject?

Hmmm - the home page works for me. There aren't any updates since last November. That's kind of sad. Not sad/pitiful, sad as in actually sad. Minus photography and add space, I could probably fill a magazine myself (albeit only for one issue).
Boostd - If you ever plan on an e-release, let me know and I can provide material.

I had a subscription. Received 7-8 magazines during the first year and a half.
Some of the technical articles were good - like the Canzoomer article, or RX-8 radiator install, etc…the one or two regarding the Speedsource ST efforts. I never really had any problems with the content, as for such a small niche market there can't be too much to report, imo.
My problems were with the writing. For years, I was a PR and speech writer. The constant errors and apparent lack of spell checking, or grammar and diction were aggravating. It's one thing to make mistakes on a forum, everyone does. If Terkel or Hemingway were on this forum they'd make mistakes. But in a publishable product that requires a paid subscription (and my understanding was that it was to be a for-profit venture), I didn't consider that acceptable. So when the time came and I hadn't seen progress in this area, I didn't renew the subscription.

Wow, spelling/grammatical errors? I did technical writing proofreading in college and have a minor in creative writing (BS in ME). Step one is always the basics. My grammar is generally functional, and my spelling is tolerable albeit getting worse by year. That stuff is fairly easy to keep at a decently high level. I spot mistakes in publications from time to time but not routinely. Then again, I doubt a small publication is carrying a lot of editors.

+1 on the Winding Road format.
Hell, I might even go for an issue with a lot of good sized photos and no text!
But nothing like reading about other folks setups and succeses to make you want to wrench on your own car. Get some guest authors like RG, MM, or Charles. Hmmm, maybe we should do that ourselves.
But yeah, I subscribed and am still looking for a couple more issues.

A while back, I called RXTuner a "rag" and Ryan got very upset. He proceeded to erase a bunch of my threads.
I guess he needed the cash more than the integrity.
Apparently, his business partner got sick/impaired and that crippled Ryan's ability to tell the truth about the demise of the publication.

[[ Obviously, having a word minimum does nothing to contribute to ]]
[[ content, nor will it deter those with malicious intent. ]]

I'm surprised BOOSTD (Ryan) hasn't responded yet. Thought he would have presented us with some kind of explanation or defense to the situation. Ohhhhh Ryan....what's up man?
