RX Tuner Volume 2 Issue 2
I just recieved and read RX Tuner Volume 2 Issue 2. Didn't take much time to read from cover to cover, but the information was oustanding. ESPECIALLY "Zoom-Zoom, PSSTTT!
For those of you outside of this loop, this is an article covering Philodox's Greddy powered RX8. I did my best to ignore FI as long as possible sinch the majority of my earnings go to support my wife, kids and maintain my household, BUT, this article has just made my mouth start watering, and no amount of **** can erase the curvacious daydream that my mind has been locked into staring at the 8 that boasts 240 rwhp.
For those that do not subscribe to RX Tuner, or have debated subscription, I have only this to say, DO IT! (Only if you A: Have money to mod your 8 after reading the articles. B: Have very STRONG willpower and an understanding wife.)
Good job Polak for covering this article, and good job Philodox on your superb 8 and your writeup "Ready for Greddy"
Someday........SOMEDAY, my 8 will have ***** too!

I agree. I LOVED this issue. It was so informative.
And I HATE philodox.... because his RX8 is so freakin sweet :p
I subscribed to RXTuner a few months back, I have 3 issues so far. Really good mag for die hard rotary heads.

In general I like the magazine but it needs more in depth content. I can't believe that they wasted precious pages in both this issue and the last one on some kind of a toy car. And then they had a review of a video game. I guess my 14 year old might like this but the magazine is way too light weight.
The wastegate porting and the water injection articles were very informative, but they got less coverage than the toy stuff.
I have a years subscription and don't know if it is worth it to resubscribe, but it is the only publication dedicated to rotarys. I am hoping that they mature quickly.

Do you have Meg's email address handy? I'd like to find out if I'm ever going to get an issue. Thanks for posting the response you received.

The last few months have been slow ... we're in a bit of a pinch right now because of the many advertisers who never pay. As a result it's looking like we're going to have to skip a month and combine April/May. Even if that happens, every subscriber will get 12 issues.
We did just finally (after 15 months) come to a deal with Mazda. The first thing that will happen is every new RX-8 sold will have a RX Tuner subscription card in the owners materials. Mazda is also going to buy some mags to distribute to dealerships. Other things will be more Mazda advertising, which should help to get us up to 64 pages (you can't make the mag thicker if you can't pay for it), and in turn get us on more newsstands like Borders and Barnes & Noble.
16 months of almost no pay from the magazine, nobody can question the dedication from either Brian or I. The magazine will definately continue as long as Mazda is producing a rotary powered vehicle, and hopefully years after that time.
The problems with mailing to Canadian subscribers has been covered extensively over and over, mostly on rx7club.com. We've done everything that such a small operation as ourselves can do, and our 200 or so Canadian subscribers cost as much as our 2000+ US ones do. It's ridiculous how hard Canada Post is making it for us to do business. If you had any idea, you'd be writing your local govt representatives instead of complaining to us.
I hope it's ok for me to give this out here, Meg's email is mclark@prestigeperiodical.com We recently signed Prestige to handle customer support issues. It was just too much for 2 people to manage, and still get everything else done.
For every one person with problems getting their mags, there are hundreds who have no problems. It's just a growing process, right now we don't have the USPS license that would allow us to get forwarding addresses, that's coming soon ... and with the other things we've accomplished things are MUCH better than they were this time last year. The only thing accomplished be being afraid not to subscribe for $22 is making it harder for us to survive. RX Tuner is the ONLY mag dedicated to the rotary guys, and if for some reason we fold, you can bet there won't ever be another rotary only mag printed here.
With a 99.5% chance of having no problems what-so-ever receiving your mags, why would you not trust us with $22?
