RX8 with 0.0% problems
All the workers must have received a raise the day my car was made (05 MT 20k). It has never stalled, loss power, or rattled. Mileage is what they said and on one road trip, (driving it like grandma) got 24mpg. I can say that I follow the owner's manual but nobody changes my oil except me. The special tool they say you need for the oil filter is one of those rubber pads used to open tight jars. Works like a charm! Oh, and I get the rpms in the 8's regularly.
I would like to hear from others who have had little or no problems and how they drive and care for their 8.

I can say I have no problems, I have 12,000 miles and I am like trying to figure out the flood thing. That never happens with me, I move it in and out of the garage often. Mine is a 2004 late spring build. I always take it up to at least 8k after it warms up.

Really ike? I bet if I took all the letters from your posts I could circle the sun three times and have enough left over for several cycles through your large intestine. I could be wrong? You do the math.

Or when you see the thread title you could skip over it instead of posting in it 3x ...

No problems that haven't been fixed under warranty or were my own damn fault.
Does that count?
Seriously, only had the odd rattle that got fixed and asked for and got the plugs, starter motor and battery upgrade. Never flooded it (despite plenty of small movements) and when the tank goes dry I put more in.
I'm a strong believer in a redline a day keeps the problems at bay.

My 8 is very reliable too!
Hello,
Yes, I have no problem with my 8 either. I just drove it normally and from time to time rev her up but only hear the beeper once since I have it for 16.5K miles. It seems to run stronger now than when it was new. As for the maintenance, I wash my own car and wax it three times a year and it is garage kept. I change the oil every 2500 miles and I normally add 1/2 quart of oil before the oil change. I check oil level once a week using flash light. I kept flash light in the trunk as it make it very easy to see when you have to insert the dip stick into that little hole in the dark. I have K&N drop in air filter, Mazda Speed flywheel and Corksport exhaust. The car has been running better and bettter so far and it has never miss a start no matter how cold (20 below) how how hot it is out side. And there isn't any rattling noise either and the quality of the interior is on par with my friend BMW. Mileage is also pretty good. On long drive to Duluth I can get over 300 miles for the full tank. I average around 23-24 mpg setting cruise control at 72 mph. I love the car but sadly I am getting a divorce and I have to put the car up for sale. It is a 6 speed with sportpackage. It has Mazdaspeed front bumper but the rest of the kit is the appearance package from factory. If anyone interested you can go to my add in the for sale forum. It is a VR 2004 model. The body is perfect and the paint is as good as new because I wax it often. It is now has approx. 16.5K miles and I will sell it for $21K.

Glad to hear, though all model of cars have problems it is unavoiable.
The issue is though that bad issues will always stand out more than people who have none. This actually goes for any negative issues, experiances or feelings. Bad things just have a way of being talked about way more.
meh I'd love the car regardless anyways.
