"Is that an RX8?" asking the young lady..
Yesterday I drove to a winery to pick up a bottle for my brother's Xmas gift. As I was paying, a pretty young lady - probably around 20 years old? walked out, looked past me and asked "Oh wow! is that an RX8??"
"Yes, it is..."
"Oh I love those!" she said
"Here's the key - go take a look" I offered.
She grabbed the key and started poking around inside the car. After a few minutes she came back in.
"wow - that is SO cool" she said, returning my key.
"Thanks - I just got it a couple weeks ago"
She went on to tell me how she's loved them since she saw them online a year ago or so... and her boyfriend has an RX7 engine he's putting in a Lotus-based track car.
A few minutes later her boyfriend came in, and he and I stood there and chatted about Mazdas for 15 minutes.
That's all, I suppose. I reckon the more situations like that I find myself in, the more thankful I am about not purchasing a Mustang. :D

coool....I keep getting the 'what is that' 'is it a viper' (um no!)
one of the odd ones was 'what is a Mazda?' (makes sense since Mazda is one of the least recognized car brands, thats changing though)

Seriously, If you don't know your basic cars...take 3 seconds to walk to the back of the car and find out what it is.
I once knew a girl who had not the faintest idea about what a Mustang, Cobra, Viper or Corvette was.

It DID make me feel nice to have a young cute chicky smiling at me; Usually the first words out of young ladies' mouths are something like:
'That's HIM, officer!"

I'm dating a girl who doesn't know that Porsche makes sports cars. Left alone that they are a German brand.
Surely she also believes that small cars are dangerous. Good thing that the RX-8 is the bigger one of my two cars.

Simualar funny thing happened to me today when I was xmas-shopping for my girl... Came out of the store and there were 5 young ladies (mid 20s I guess) looking at my beautiful car - and they all matched the car. They were beautiful as well. 4 of them was totaly speedcrazy and loved cars, their 5th friend looked suprisingly uninterested. I stood back a few minutes smoking and watched them inspect my car more intensivly than a mechanic. Then I unlocked it and they all turned around with a b i g smile on their faces. "Your car?"... bla bla bla... Ended up with 4 phonenumbers and one xmasgift for my girl.

People either ask me if it is a BMW or just straight up ask me what I drive. I haven't been asked if it was anything else. Of course, I don't mind people askin (especially if the person is a hot chick), it just gives me a chance to show off the car. Haha.
Does anybody else get this comment said to them, "I so want to rape your car!"? I get told that 5 times a week at the very least.

i had a couple of younger girls...i'm guessing either still in high school or fresh out looking at my car when i came out of the mall the other day. this is one reason i love my remote start and exhaust combo. still a ways off i started the car and they jumped back...nice little rumble from the exhaust. long story short i got 2 numbers and took them for a ride. trashed the #'s cause i like my car and not jail.
still haven't had anybody make any stupid guesses though.

I pass by guys all the time walking to/from my car several times a day and every day, at least once, someone tells me they wish they had my car. I just smile and say "Thanks--I know."

Maybe, but the majority of the guys I work with are over 40 and married. They know I'm nice, but not interested.
However, there are those who say something and aren't over 40 and married. I'll admit that I talk to them.
