RX8 Back Windows

Do they go down? I'm looking into getting an RX8 and I like the four doors and back seat so my dog can fit in there, he would love to stick his head out those little windows but I doubt they go down, just making sure. Thanks.

Always wonder about putting little motors on them so you can open/close them with a button.

Parents minivan has that and the motors and lever look like they would work...

I think the back of an rx8 is not a happy place for dog... they can't lie down at all.. unless they're really small i guess.. and maybe passenger seat all the way forward... or maybe all the way back and down.. and put the dog in the front...

dont abuse dog.. and don't abuse rx8

My medium sized dog loves the back of the '8. I make sure the air goes on fresh and there's plenty of airflow into the back. Solution to dog hair is a rubber backed picnic mat... with the rubber side towards the seat. Plenty of spots to tuck the mat in.

I'm also lucky I have an extremely well behaved dog... she doesn't jump around and doesn't druel.

My big Lab (105lbs) fits just fine, he lays down and rests his head on the center console.

there was a thread about it over a year ago...I actually have access to a Dodge Grand Caravan that will RIP in 4000 miles (hitting 200,000). When that happens I'm taking out the rear window motor system and attempt to install it on the rear quarter window of the 8 :D

my car has leather seats and my wife's car has cloth. I much prefer taking our dogs in my car with the leather seats. With the cloth seats, hair gets in them and its a pain trying to get it out even with a vacuum. The leather is 10X easier to wipe off and the dog smell doesnt get absorbed into the leather like it does with the cloth seats.

Gotta go along with that. I had a used car with a back seat that someone had clearly used as a dog haven, and despite all my vacuuming attempts, I never was able to get all the dog hair out.

ah, I know the duct tape trick well. Works pretty nicely but time consuming. Leather just wipes out.

Actually, I found a much better solution. I sold the car and bought a new dog-hair-free 8.

The only animals allowed in my RX-8 are dead cows and chickens...their remains usually covered with lettuce and tomato, sitting between two buns, with a side of fries.

I'm with JeRKy..........RX-8's should NOT have pets in them. Sounds like you people need a truck........and I think you should all be FINED for treating your 8's to such torture. I'd be ashamed!!!
