rx8 cut out

Ok I took my car out of the garage the other day b/c the weather was really nice, now later in the day a did a donut, and after the donut i start to accelerate straight and about 6k rpm my car just like shut down like a fuel cut off, then did it again in 2nd gear. looking down i see my gas light is on so im hoping it was just b/c i had almost no gas, but then after coming into town i went w.o.t again and it had no cut out.

Now during this and after, no check engine light, ran and idled normal. m car never does this when i drive it hard b4, could it be the gas level or maybe a coil getting too hot or something? I have the mazsport ignition w/ brand new plugs.. anyone?

car run just fine now.

most likely because u were low on fuel.....if u filled up and everything was good prob because when u did the donut all the fuel got sloshed to one side and when u went to take off u sucked some air in the fuel lines and that's what caused ur problem.....

If I try to go near wot shortly after starting the car up when it is cold out (maybe 15-30 degrees) I get a fuel cutoff somewhere around 5 and 6k. This disappears when the engine warms up a bit. Is there something wrong with my engine or is this normal? (I know its bad to give it alot of gas when its still cold but I can't help it sometimes )

Were you spinning in a counter clock wise direction? There are a few of us that have had fuel pump issues on high g left hand turns while on the track.
BTW: Donuts are for eating.

ok I never said at all it was when i first started the car up... im not an idiot, this was probably 30 min or more after i was driving. I didnt realize the gas was low, off in my own world b/c i was excited to drive the car and talk to my g/f in the passenger seat. so thanks for the flames even though you just assumed i did this at cold start up. * if you read my post in the first line i clearly state * later in the day**

Why not just put gas in the car and go wide open throttle to see if the problem continues?
