Having owned an '83 RX 7 and the 8, as I think about them they are very different cars. I love them both, but for different reasons. The 7's interior was like a fighter jet, the ride was much rougher and the engine quite eccentric. The 8's overall ride is much superior and it feels to me to be just as zippy as the 7.
