RX8 Electronics Questions!
I have a couple questions about the RX8's electronics system.
Firstly when I retrofit LED side-lights/indicators/high-beams will they throw a warning light without a resistor? I know in my previous car the computer would go ape **** if I didn't install LED's which specifically said they were okay for CANBUS systems. I don't need to worry about tail lights since I already have LED clusters from LCRotary.
Secondly I removed that stupid useless secondary air pump and its throwing a check engine light. Is there a way to resolve this without getting it tuned out of the computer or reinstalling it? I literally just ripped the thing out and bolted the baro sensor and resistor to the inside of the engine bay. I didn't buy a blanking plate for it, I just threw a rubber bung onto the check valve thing next to it.

LED turn signals will have hyperflashing like most other cars of that age because the car will think the bulbs are burnt out. You can either add resistors in parallel of the LED bulbs or replace the turn signal relay with one that won't hyperflash with LED turn signals. I used TapTurn and it worked well.
LED 3rd brake light may trigger the ABS light on a Series 1 from what I have read. Tap a resistor in parallel.
As for high beam, it depends on if your car has DRL.
-If it doesn't, then you can just put in LED units.
-If it does and you don't care about DRL, unplug the DRL fuse and proceed like above.
-If it does and you still want DRL, it gets a bit trickier and requires you to do some wiring work.
Personally, I just use the halogen unit. H9 halogens put out 2100 lumens nominal and that's pretty darn good for high beams. Most LED high beams are also way too blue to be useful. I tried them before and decided to stick with the halogen H9s.

You answered all my other questions.
I'm not getting cool white headlights, i'm getting just regular white. I had the same ones in my old punto and mx5 (but the H4 version ) and they are REALLY good. So i'm getting the same brand ones for my 8'. After using LED's in my previous cars I actually find the RX8 full beams to be quite weak. Each of the LED units put out just under 5000 lumens each. Plus the warm white from halogen doesn't match the white coming from my Xenon low beams.
Thanks for the response, i'll put your information to good use. I'll probably leave the the 3rd brake lights alone.

2007 is a Series 1, so yeah, you need a resistor for a LED 3rd brake light.
