I know this may sound painfully obvious, but you are asking a forum of Rx-8 people if their car is better then a G35. While most people here will give you an honest answer I think the standard question to you will be the following:

Do you want straight line power or handling.

You really didnt say much of what you want.

Exactly, Woz. So why prompt him? He asked which is better. Just oblige.

epoy: RX8.

If you test drove them both, the answer should be obvious.

RX-8!

It's unique. Looks more unique, IMO. Looks more sportscar like. A whole lot more character to the RX-8, I think, than the G35.

And that's what I like in a car, character!

(refilling oil regularly builds YOUR character!)

---------------- Of course, like the other posters said, you can't just ask that. You have to lay down on the table everything: what you're looking for, what you like and don't like about each car, what your needs are, what things are important to you and which aren't. Performance, handling, mileage, looks, heck, shifter feel, interior quality, interior luxury feel, aftermarket potential, etc....

Correction, you not "w/e" got owned. Speak for yourself please.

My car is stock, I've had two encounters with G's and have left them both trailing. And before you haters/doubters start to flame - I don't care what anyone else says or claims, I know what "my" car can and can't do. I also know which cars are close enough that it really comes down to the driver and road conditions.

You need a flywheel and high flow cat minimum to drag with a G35 if your driving skills are average.

G35s are everywhere, but are a lot more luxurious and mature vs. the rx8 which looks more sporty. But bottom line g35s aren't cheap, so if price was a factor I say you can do a lot more with the rx8.

One a side note kw1k, w/ all due respect... I've read a lot of ur posts you seem to get spanked a lot, even by a lightly modded gsr integra, forget the flywheel and hi flo cat, you need skip barber.

Come on they weren't racing you. Every stat I've seens says you wouldn't stand a chance against a G35.

Test drive both, decide what works for you. They were the two obvious choices for me when I was looking for a new car, but Mazda's styling says something to me. I think as I get older I may get a G35, but the RX-8 fits my personality so much more.

It should come down to how the car feels to you...and if you can afford it. I wanted the NAV and the G35C with NAV put it out of the price range that I wanted.

After driving both cars, I choose the RX8. For me it was clear choice. Both cars have their own strenght and weaknesses. Asking which is better, is like asking, what do you like more pancakes or french toast?

Wow, this was my exact thing too. I wanted nav, nav + g35 = too much bloody money.

RX8 vs G35: The G35 has the advantages of being a known luxury model, with the corresponding price to match. It has excellent feel on the road, especially with long trips in a straight line, but it in no way matches the feel, grip, and joy of really driving the rx8. G35 has less maintainence and mildly better fuel economy. It drives very well and I agree with the Car and Driver article on it couple years back: It's dependable, fun to drive, lots of options...but it costs more compared to similar options on RX8. Manual, better on the '8.
I would choose RX8 over and over again. It's obvious by reading through this forum that RX8 owners are more than satisfied and fanatical about their great cars. Ummm, can't say the same for g35'ers.

thats simply because your so called "encounters" was when you thought you were racing while the G35s were not racing you and shifting at 3500 RPM. :p 160lb-ft of torque that dosnt get there until 5500rpm? vs 270/260 lb-ft of torque?

why some rx8 owners are even concerned with drag racing is beyond me. its nice to have lots of power in the G35 when you need to pass someone, but its just plain stupid to go out and drag someone at the stop light or highway for the sake of your ego. do you feel like you're the man by beating a G35?

People in little civics, accords and taurus and cavaliers tries to jump on my G35 at the stop light and trys to zoom by me on the road all the time. Then they would go on their little forums and just like you, talk about how they beat a G35 coupe. I just let them fly by and laugh at them for being so stupid.

Most Rx8 owners I come accross are much more mature, and we admire each others cars and exchange thumbs up. And Ive never had a rx8 owner try to pull that immature "race me" crap on me. btw im just joking about the g35 werent racing part, any car can beat any car. please be safe and consider other's safety when you race on the streets.

With all due respect, you have no reason to doubt this mans credibility. Dont forget there are plenty of 260hp sedans running around that still say g35 on the back.

im actually just joking around with him, Im not really doubting him. theres no reason why the rx8 cant beat any other car, cobra, vettes u name it depending on whose driving them. im just laughing at how some rx8 owners are so concerned with racing people on the streets. good for him i guess, if he feels like hes the man after beating some other car. Not good for the rest of us driving around people like that, who increase the risk of accident for people around them.

Ok, not that i doubt you guys but how can we get destroyed by a g35 when its only like 0.1 seconds faster 0-60? this is from mag. I understand that the chances of going that fast arnt good but i would think either is the other guy. Isnt all down to driving when they are this close?
