Well actually that's a great question.. You see the rx8 is harder to drive that fast because to get those mag numbers you have to really work the car hard and rev to 8k, manage the wheel spin and then go... If you dont do that, say you launch at 5k you add easily another .5 to 1 second to your 0-60 time.

The g35 on the other hand has lots of torque everywhere, you dont have to be as perfect with it to get close to the mag numbers.

My cousin for instance has a s2000 that he's a friggin surgeon with. He launch and kill cars that according to mags and hp ratings he shouldn't be able to, but he's got the launch down to an exact science, something that a lot of s2000 drivers dont have.

That makes sense and thats what i was thinking. So it takes more skill to drive the rx-8 quick from a start then the g35. Wow a full second that hurts. Thanks

Cool g vs. rx

I chose the RX (obviously) after driving a G35 on a 100 mile round trip. I wanted the G until I drove it on the freeway and on Pacific coast hwy in CA. The G feels heavy and you feel every road irregularity. whereas the Rx8 feels lighter on its feet and more tossable and is smooth on the freeway. Also the Nav on all newer Nissan models cannot be programmed while the car is moving...the input is frozen until you stop....and the ricer exhaust got tiring after about a half hour....every time you excelerate you get everyone turning to see what your doin. The rx sounds greeat when revved but isnt loud all the time.
Just my ovservations.

G35 Coupe: Way expensive, great exterior, chintzy interior, terrible rear headroom, nice exhaust note, torquey engine, relatively common, decent handling, heavy.

RX-8: Great value price, great exterior, great interior, great rear headroom, wimpy exhaust note, peaky engine, relatively uncommon, incredible handling, light.
