I'm assuming you mean mileage. Mine is an '04 with 35K miles on it, bought it at 33K. 68K miles doesn't tell us much so we can't tell you if it was a good buy or not. We would have to know the history of the vehicle, maintenance records, original engine, etc.

Also, I'm pretty sure there are many other threads like this. A simple search could satisfy your curiosity.

We really need to know what service it's had. It could be due for a tune up at 68K.

what things get done on a tune up its had services done but not recorded at all witch is real crap it has been called back to mazda for the upgraded starter motor and for the corrosion they get on the oil pipes has had brake discs done 2011 also can see it had in feb 2010 new leads done with service in 05 been to mazda main delear 2 times for service they used 5w30 oil in the car then vospers done one service.
i can see the latest garage that had the car had used 10w40 synthetic oil for 3years now im about to put 10w30 synthetic oil in next week with a oil filter and going to buy new plugs possibly leads but they were done a year ago would they perish that quick?

Please try using proper punctuation and grammar. You'll probably get more answers that way.

From what I could discern from your scrambled sentences it sounds like the car has been serviced enough times to hopefully be running properly. You have the updated starter at least so that's a good thing. Did you find out if it has had the MSP-16 flash done to it? I'm quite sure it would have if it has been serviced at a dealership so many times but just make sure as a safety precaution.

Yes, it is possible for plugs to wear out that fast - depends on different factors such as how the previous owner(s) drove it. If you are replacing plugs I would go ahead and change the trailing out too to reduce confusion next time (and to also make sure your car is going to be running at its best). Do you know when the last time it had its coils/wires changed also? Might be something to check up on.

What are you driving experiences with it so far? Does it run fine? Have any power loss/hiccups/trouble starting?

starts fine runs smooth not pings hiccups at all not verry good accel low revs picks up around 4500rpm and shoots off maybe thats normal for all the rx8s not sure mines thes 5 speed manual so redline is 7500rpm hits a limiter at about 8k.

has had new leads feb 2010 not sure about coils thanks.

The '8 isn't an acceleration monster. You have to work it up in the revs to achieve decent acceleration (but then again that's part of the fun!). So sounds normal enough.

You have the 5-speed with the reduced redline? I thought that model wasn't available in the US? Of course I could be wrong because I'm not too familiar with RX-8's initial launch into the US.

Yes...all four at the same time is best...and there's "leading" and "trailing" plugs...You worry me...

And...Just to get back to the topic of your thread...Does it really matter at this point?...I keep seeing threads by you about every aspect of your car...You already bought the damn thing.

My '04 had 70K and a brand new motor when I bought it... Just thought I would throw that out there.
