RX8 Guages

You can turn them on to daytime mode by turning the dimmer switch. They are red at night, and white/kinda blueish during the day.
They switch to red when you turn on the lights, that's where the override comes in so you can have your headlights on during the day and still be able to see the guages.

I read in a pre-production review that the instrument lighting could be changed. Apparently, that feature was deleted before reaching production in 2003.
I almost always keep the headlights on as daytime running lights, so the ability to switch the panel to "daytime" mode with the headlights on is important and convenient.

I also found my new avatar yesterday. It was the student category winner in the 2003 CIAS Motor Trend International Design Contest. I hope a fourth generation RX-7 will look something like this:

Thank you guys, I love the rx-8's guages. I plan on getting an RX-8 in about 3 months. I found out that through my dads work, he gets a discount off of all Ford owned makes/models. Since Mazda is with ford, i'll get a discount.
