RX8 and the Gym

Ok, silly question maybe, but with my last car I didn't really mind much because I was able to shower at the gym before I drove back, but in my new apartment, the building is close to my apartment so I will need to drive there and then drive back (or just run there if it isn't too cold).

For those of you who drive to the gym and drive back before showering, do you do anything special to prevent the car/seat from smelling sweaty. Maybe drop a towel over the seat before getting in?

I've never worried about it too much. Do you have leather seats? Just wipe it down every once in a while.

I keep a towel (to sit on) in the trunk as well as a warmup jacket to put on.

If you sweat a lot the sweat will just soak right through the towel. I have to drive quite a bit after working out in my STi which has cloth seats and what I do is get a large roll of the plastic stuff you use when painting rooms. If you cut off a section that is approximately as wide as the seat it will be just a bit longer than from the head to the bottom of the seat area. After you put down this plastic strip put a towel on top for maximum stink prevention. This stuff will last a REALLY long time using it like this since you are only cutting off a little at a time.

Just change your shirt.. I have "work out clothes" and I only wear them when I'm working out. Then I change back to the clothes I wore to drive back.. No big deal

Shower at gym, or change shirt - towels are not really worth it...it will still soak into the seat.

Honestly, I'd run to and from - no matter how cold it is a good run is a nice way to cool down.

Same here, unless I have a severe need to for sanity sake, but in that case you do the ol' lift, rip, waft, sit
