Rx8 has very little roll back
Is it just my car or is the rx8s in general don't roll back too much from a stop. I've stopped next to m3s and evos at the light on a very slight incline and notice that they roll back while mines won't budge while i have nothing but the clutch pedal pressed down.

Why do you have the clutch pedal pressed down. Are you talking pressed down all the way disengaged, or are you talking using the clutch to keep rx8 from rolling backwards. Either case does not make any sense.
Rx8 rolls back plenty. Those other ricers you mention perform excessive rollbacks to increase style points. Just like other ricers turning on fog lights when there is no fog, or rx8 overuse of sunroof popup. They all think it is "stylish" to "prove something".
I do excessive rollbacks sometimes to keep fools off my bumpers. Always have to watch your rearview all the time. Think it doesn't happen and you don't need to, but it does and you do need to perform all these little tricks.
I flash the brake lights before I need to start braking, because I know the car behind me is too fast, too close, and too damn heavy to stop in time. Sometimes they do not get the message and it is safer just to run the red light in rx8.
Lots of quick, last-second gut decisions to make when piloting rx8. That's why you see lots of jokers making new threads about "I got rid of rx8 for this and that crap" just couldn't handle being on the edge. Lots of screwballers out there got no idea what they're doing.

I don`t run red lights.
Yellows, yes, but I slow down plenty enough to not need to run reds.
I get stupid people running right upto my bumper with their automatic cars all the time on hills. It`s annoying. I roll back on purpose towards them abit while coming to a stop, usually ends in them hitting their breaks abit harder, but I prefer them back further from me.
Not to be sexist but 90% of the people hugging my bumper are women. Might just be chance, but yeah.. :P

What i meant was that sometimes when i'm stopped at a light, i don't even bother stepping on the brakes. I would just be in first gear with the clutch disengaged. No roll back at all, even on a very slight incline.
I often see cars next to me roll back before taking off while my car just stay still as if it was on a perfectly level road.

Hope a cop catches you honestly if you run red lights.

but in all realness, I have noticed other makes of cars roll back more when the light turns green....im sure there is some super complex reason like our clutch engaging earlier or residual friction between the clutch and flywheel not disengaging all the way.

[QUOTE=DarkLord7854;2936644]Overuse? As in, having it open all the way? Mine only has three options, closed, half an inch gap, or fully retracted and open.
3?? you know when it's still rolling back and u press the left(?) button once, it stops moving right? so u can actually have it as wide as u need. unless ur 8 is weird?

In first gear? with the clutch down? at a light?
Dude. Put it in neutral and give your foot a rest before you melt whatever is left of your clutch. If your foot is on the clutch at all, it's slipping and you're wearing it out.
My car rolls back just fine. I would attribute people rolling back further then you to be a result of them not knowing how to drive.

yeah.
and
if everyone learned how to use the handbrake properly they would never roll back

It opens fully upwards before it starts to move, and to really get any air in it has to be fully retracted, which ends up in giving me a wing on the roof :S

Just don't leave it at that one special spot where air blows in. Wind friction = bad.

1. Engage handbrake
2. Put it in neutral, let the clutch out, sing along to the radio until the light turns green.
3. Put it in first, start to engage the gear.
4. Drop handbrake as you engage the gear, and go.
No rollback at all, problem solved. Rollback is a rookie problem.
