Hey I'm looking at intakes and i wanna get the best soundsing most hp one out there. I have heard the knn typhoon and i thought that sounds pretty good and i alos heard the weapon R is good too hit me up letme know and if someone else swears theres is the best and it aint make sure u tell me lol

Here's some good reading. Note the section on the intake on page 6.
Loosing the VFAD will cost you a little low end torque to gain a little top end.

Intakes on the 8 do nothing but make a lot of noise. Minimal hp gain if any. When I say minimal maybe 1 or 2. The Revi with the ram air may get a lil more but not much.

 

Very true, but IMO...............I think it's the best functioning and well Engineered CAI(with duct) out there. Coupled with the RB exhaust is even better.........unless you're just into noise! I'll bet the combo really doesn't get you more than about 5-7hp overall, but then again..................my butt ain't a dyno.

Hey ******** perform rx-8. I done used the search button for days and days. I been studying everything i can possible figure out. I even been listening to videos on youtube just to hear the sound but performance wise when it comes from intake to intake or exhaust to exhaust thats the reason im asking people here. I just figured since this is an rx8 club thats what people are here for not to sit here and act like im a fool. i asked for opinions not for insults and as u can tell i don't take **** from smart ***** nor do i have the patients as u can tell to deal with them. Thanks from the people that did put there good words in much appreciated. : )

FWIW - what I did was get the RB duct & mate it up to the stock intake .
Also got a K&N drop in & pulled out both screens (eventually) that are just before the maf .
Would bet my left one that it is as good as any other intake out there . However I lost my left one in a previous bet so .......

depends what youre looking for.

if youre going for sound, go for the turboxs (that thing is loud)

for performance, you cant really go past the re-amemiya super dolphin (in titanium of course)
