Another Rx8 massacred my a careless SUV driver...a deadly daily experience for all of us, unfortunately every so often an Rx8 doesn't make it to the driveway at the end of the day.

PS. What did you use in the rear between the tailights to cover the holes from de-badging, it looks wicked sick!

good luck with your car.

yeah, this car is totaled. The damage to fix this car will cost more than the value of the car, so the insurance will pay you what the car is worth today.
Let us know how it goes... sorry for you loss

Yeah I was really pissed when I got there. I really didn't expect to see it off the truck. Apparently there was no safety chain on it. And the investigation is on. The lady is saying he didn't have the arrow and she didn't see the tow truck or the car. I'm like how did you miss that unless you were not paying attention at all. And the tow truck guy is saying that she straight ran the light. The officer had me back the whole time cause he could see that I was pissed. When I finally got home I filed with both insurance companies. I'm just still shocked.

No he didn't have it strapped down and the tow truck was to the left of me i guess he moved it out of the way before the cops came. Also he had rollers on the front end of the car and he was towing the car from the rear. I believe he only strapped the rollers to the front tires and didn't on the back end. I'm just hoping they will total it out.

I doubt the car will be totalled, but the tow company should be liable for the car not being strapped down. Sorry to see that.

Not sure yet cause they are still debating who's fault it was so I filed with both insurance companies just to be safe.

The frame is def bent on both sides. I'm working with Progressive and Farmers , and that thats the same thing the cop said about not being strapped down.

When negotiating a settlement, go for Blue Book high price. Have a list of your mods itemized and add that on top of the estimated value of the car.

this is the most appalling set of circumstances i've ever seen.

First off, I'm glad everyone's okay....cause secondly, i'd want to personally kick the living **** out of the ppl responsible

I really hope things work out for you! Hope to still see you around with a new 8!!

They are going to try to negotiate that down so they (the two insurance companies) won't have to pay out as much money to you. Be firm, you may not get all that you are looking for. But, you are in the drivers seat. You took the loss without having to do with what affected the accident. If you have any problems with their insurance companies, you may consider getting yours involved. Their lawyers can work for you.
