even with turbos even with compressor, even with racing cats and special exhaust system and this and that, it won't get over 500bhp? IMPOSSIBLE, I havn't seen 1 (only one) rx8 with 500hp. And I mean it world wide. There is one RX8 which has 498hp but thats with the FD's engine.

What is wrong with rx8 engine, it's just impossible to work with. I would love to spend money on it, but why spend $7000-8000 for making it 280bhp or if im very lucky just over 300bhp?

I seen, volvos, fords, opels, peugeot from the 80's with 500hp. even RENAULTS have some cars over 500!!!

Fast and slow are relative terms. Speed isn't decided only on horsepower. The RX8 has plenty of quickness in it to have you spending the night in jail.

Saying the Rx8 "won't" get over 500bhp is nonsense. The FD has had over 15 years of engineering behind it's development while the RX8 has only been produced since 2004. Only now are the 04's, 05's and some 2006's seeing the end of their warranty lives.

Please don't clutter up the forum with this groundless information.

Of course it can get over 500hp. With 4rotors and tripple turbos.(not really serious, but something like that) But im not a millioner.
That's bullshit, u telling me the reason why nobody have 500hp in their rx8's is becasue they're still under warranty? Im not talking about the US, or Canada, im talking about world wide. My point is, its very very diffuclt to make the rx8 get over 500hp without ridiculously extremly extremly extremly actions, and a acceptable pricetag. Just admit it, or proof the opposite!

 

so what kind of impressive car you have driven that made over 500 hp...? what kind of motor is it running with? what gas is it burning? what mods does it have? what tire width does it have? how much the car weigh? how does it handle with 500 hp+? how does it brake with that much power?

I guess it depends on what you would consider "extreme" mods. You're trying to tell me you got your Honda Civic to 500whp with an intake and exhaust? I'm sure it took a good sized turbo and some tuning.

The fact is, anything is possible with the rotary. The RENESIS is easily capable of 500whp. It all depends on how deep your wallet is. So, the question should not be whether or not it's capable of 500whp but how much it will cost you to make it happen.

In the mean time, feel free to read the vast amount of information here on RX8club.com and educate yourself about the rotary.

Now ask ur question again. Of course i put my thread here. I love my rx8, it's wonderful, but it just lacks one thing, and that is power. This car with power, I doubt anybody would find a better car.

I dont want a saab, volvo, ford, opel, bmw, i JUST want a rx8 with power. The rx8 with power would be unbeatable!

 

i understand that you are talking about, but if you bought this car for major hp then i guess you bought the wrong car. there are many more things in a car than just power itself... so search deeper into the forum and be patient. i am sure the 8 will get there some day with the power!

Once again, i LOVE the rx8, i just want POWER in it. And i dont understand why i must put in extrem mods for making it 500hp. I have to spend twice as much cash on the rx8 for making it 500hp than any other car.

Who have the esmeril turbo kit with 500hp? i saw someone had it, but it was like 420 something.


By extreme mods i mean you have to change the whole engine for 500hp.
I seen ppl swaping engines to 3rotary with turbo and on the edge for 500hp. This is extreme, we are not talking about installing turbo, compressor, fuel injectors ets.

I really do hope so. its TIME for mazda to wake up and make changes if they want rotary to survive. It's 2009 now, we have seen new fords with 400hp, jaguares upgrading 557hk, opels, audis,toyota. They all are avaible with over 350hp STOCK. Im not even going to start with bmw and mercedes.

RX-8 stated productions late 2003. Its 2009 now, 6years, and finaly when they release their "new" RX-8 2009, whats the difference?? a better oil pump, another interior,new front lights this wont hold for long.

 

Extreme modifications?!?!? Show me another car (non rotary) that starts off w/the same bhp as the rx8 and can make 400+whp on the stock engine?

None of those damn cars you mentioned made that amount of hp on stock internals. None of them!!!!

You profess 'love' for your supposed RX-8. I would submit you don't even 'know', no less 'love' it if you know so little about it (I love my gf, what'shername). If you would take the time / have the neurons to comprehend the engineering of the RENESIS engine, then take a bit more time to read some threads produced over the last 5+ years outlining the technical battles to 'change' the RENESIS to a high HP engine, you'd be able to answer your own questions.

A far better option than sounding oh so much like a 15 yr old kid wailing "What is wrong with rx8 engine, it's just impossible to work with." Hot avatar BTW. And welcome, now just try and get your act together.

 

dont i remember awhile back a rx8 that had nearly (if not just over) 1,000 hp on a 20b? so.....as everyone is saying. and whats your point? if you dont like your car you shouldn't have bought it. Go buy another civic, or better yet mustang.
