<RX8> Oil Check, Engine IDLE, etc....
Please kindly help!
I recently order a RX8 (titanium) with AT. Then I was so excited to be patient for 6 weeks for this baby to come. But since I heard this car has too many problems and some help is appreciated.
1. What is engine idle (means engine suddenly stopped? How to prevent it?)
2. Like some ppl said need to check engine oil after 2/3 times after gas station? (if its true, should I buy a couple of engine oil n put it in my trunk?)
3. Any other major problems?
Sorry I m newbies like a rookie in sports car buz previously I had a celica and it was prefect without any major poblems. Your help is greatly appreciated!

You can't be serious. Just in case you are:
1. idle is when the engine is not doing anything except running, like when you are sitting at a stop light. I don't know what you've read but I don't know of any idle problems, just rough idle with an aftermarket intake system.
2. Yes the rotary motor burns oil, this is by design. It does not burn enough to warrant carrying a couple in the trunk. Just check it when you fill up with gas and fill it as needed.
3. NO

Well, we know issues with flooding if its especially a manual transmission. Don't think thats an issue with automatics and the recent 'M' flash for the ECU should've fixed this issue but either ways its a good thing to run the engine for a while. Might want to think about protecting the oil cooler and radiator from debris on the roads. And enjoy the car!! I should have mine next week!! Woohoo!
