I'd love to have a non-leather seating option, all the pics I've seen so far show leather.. something like that awesome mesh of the NY auto show version would be kickass.. even the seats on the wrx are pretty damn nice.. or if they must have leather they should be heated.. this alone will be enough to sway my decision..

dont care for the auto seats but would like to have numbered setting. ie adjustemnt show a number so you can easily return the setas back to ur settings.. power seats are gonna add too much wasted weight for be. im guessing 50lbs per seat..

a 6-disc in-dash should be in there seems like everything has them now and i like it in my current car.. (cl-s)

a fully adjustable steering wheel will be nice too, to keep it nice and ergonomic..

and please no sunroof. if u want a sunroof get a civic.. nothing like ripping a square whole into your roof to make ur car more rigid.. and if u must have it make it purely optional..

and make shifter better then the s2k, i'm sick of hearing about that shifter..

I want some better speakers and a better stereo with the hookups for an amp. From the interior pics i have seen it looks like its going to be a tough job trying to remove that stereo.

What? No check-box for the "F1-Style" Tip-Tronic option from the RX-Evolve?

This poll seems a little bias

Make the transmission vote an option button so only one can be choosen. ie: (F1 Tip-Tronic, Automatic, Standard)

Quote from another forum discussing this transmission:

"There are two different paddle shift transmissions. One uses a torque converter which is basically an automatic without the drive option, this one sucks. the other is the true f1 style sequential transmission, which features an electronicly controlled clutch. the f1 style is currently available on the 2002 bmw m3, and some ferraris. when coming to a stop you pull back on both paddles, this puts the car in neutral, when you are ready to go again you pop it into first. the electronic clutch starts engaging and you have to regulate the gas just like you would in a regular manual transmission car. i have never acutally had the opportunity to drive a car equipped with such a transmission, but from what i understand it is almost impossible to start off smoothly, but once rolling the shifts are incredibly fast, and a hell of a lot of fun. the system in the bmw has 6 different shift programs ranging from mild sunday driving smooth shifts all the way to snap your neck quick shifts. I'm not sure of the specifics of the one they debuted in the rx evolve, but if they do offer it i hope it is similiar to the one offered by bmw as i understand it is far superior to the ferrari system"

I agree. I REALLY hope that Mazda engineers are smart enough to install an in-dash with RCA pre-outs. Because otherwise, as you say, it looks like it would be a real bitch to put an aftermarket headunit in there.

I would think that Mazda is still working on the sequential gearbox. From what I've heard, they're having trouble getting it to hold up to the high revs of the RENESIS. My prediction is that in 2-3 years after the 8 is released there will be a RX-8 TypeR - or whatever - that will have like 280 hp, sequential gearbox, and a few other goodies.

They don't want to blow their whole wad on the first revision of the car.

Well, I would like a true SMG not a Tiptronic, and as BOOSTD7 said, Mazda doesnt have one that can handle the 80 High Revving Cubes of the Renesis Rotary. So well see what happens.

BOOSTD7, I think that in 2-3 years were gonna see a Turbo RX8 especially if they Redesign the RX7, Maybe well have the Emergence of a SMG there.

yeah i see what you mean johnny..

but i think more car makers going for this route these days, to give the interior a more integrated look and also to make the thing harder to steal. well check out what it sounds like first, i'm sure they'll have a stereo upgrade package..

I want GPS. I don't know why...but I do

I also want NO leather. Leather sucks when you are trying to AutoX or run on a track. Sliding around is fun...when the tires do it...not your ***

NOBODY want automatic. they'd make a serious mistake if they came in automatic only for the 1st year. rmember the sales dropped dramatically for the Supra TT in 97 when they only came in auto. what were they thinking??!!

Automatic is for lazy drivers, thats the way i always looked at it. I never owned an automatic tranny vehicle and never will unless i'm disabled for some reason (knocks on wood)

Well first off it was 1996, and it wasnt that Toyota didnt make them, they just werent allowed to sell them here in the United States. And some people do want an auto. An auto tranny in Bracket Drag Racing, is a major plus, no missed shifts, faster shifts, and more consistent times, and consistency is key in Bracket racing, and it would even help you in auto X, and it would help you in traffic. An autotrannys only real downfall is the increased powerloss over the manual transmissions. I will be opting for a Manual Tranny just because, but an auto car shouldnt be ruled out, also I have heard that if it had less gears then the manual you might get more torque.

I'd rather see XM or Sirius radio as an option, also HIDs and lightweight wheels. and FI. Choice of interior color accents. And, oh, let us not forget a convertible or targa top.

Limited slip

All sporty vehicles need a limited slip. I test drove an RSX and it was in need of one. The $1000+ aftermarket purchase price plus costly installation charges make it a valuable addition, especially once we attempt to 'enhance' the rotary's ability to breath.

actually, I expect base version to be fairly loaded... if high end version is going to be <30,000$ then the base version wont be too skinny... I would expect leather, better stereo, & bigger tire/wheels package to be optional, that fits in $3-$4k price range... dont expect 350Z like options where base car is $9k less expensive than loaded car, with the same engine

additionally, I dont think you will be able to get too many performance upgrades, it will be all included in the standard package

I just want limited slip, some sort of defeatable traction control (for the winter), and a moon roof. I don't have power seats or cruise control on the M3, and don't miss either. I can do without leather and nav and multi-CD players, etc., as well. In all honesty, I'd probably even stick with the 16" wheels, in order to improve low-end response.

Looking for a very base model; I hope they set the packages up the way that Nissan did with the 350Z.

The poll needs some mods

1) I want a Moonroof/Sunroof!!!

And a limited slip. Those are the priority ones. Everything else is way far down the line for me.

And, the math on the results needs to be done differently. The percentage shown in the last column for each option shoud be a ratio of the number of people who want it to the number of people who voted, as opposed to the number of total checkmarks.

For example, at this moment, out of 75 people who voted, 50 wanted the tilt/tele steering wheel. It should be 66.7% and not 13.3% like the math currently done.

Ok. Enough griping.

Make mine blue. I think. :D

Talking

Don't need no stinking "navigation system". Seatbelts keep your butt from sliding, leather excellent. Automatic should definitely be an 'option', (never know what life will bring, knock on wood or not), stick might be half the fun for some, my old lady don't do stick (real dangerous, smashed three cars the last time she did, does ok with auto), I do both, prefer AT over manual in town. All I want is speed and the ability to hold it on the road at high speed!

Talking TWIN TURBO!!!

Yeah, I'd check off the Twin Turbo box if it was available on the option sheet. I know that it will not be offered, at least initially, but you can't blame me for dreaming.

I could take or leave leather seats. I guess the only way I'd get them is if they were standard or if they came in a package with upgraded sound, wheels, etc.

I sure hope the Navigation system is an option and not standard. They are just a waste of money and weight for people who know their way around and know how to use a map.
