I don't like Ford either, but as Buckeye stated, they have kept Mazda alive and been a driving force.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how many Armed Forces members this forum has. It seems to be abnormally high, not that it's a bad thing, just my observation. And all the members from Texas, lots of them too.

just for kicks. when something says it is made somewhere does not technically mean its made in that country. items that ay made in u.s. could have ben made in japan only if the manufacturer is contracted by a u.s. company............ stuff made in japan could be made here in the u.s. as long as a japanese affiliate is producing the product. just thought i would throw my $ .02 cents

I for one am DAMN GLAD Mazda is part of Ford.
I had done the deal on my car, getting a helluva lease rate and low payment for my loaded up Lightning Yellow GT. At delivery I was going to owe $954.00 to drive it home - first month's payment, security deposit, plate transfer. I had done the deal on Tuesday and was taking delivery on Wednesday afternoon. Well, in Tuesday's mail was a certificate from Ford good for $1000 credit on a deal on ANY Ford deal - Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Jaguar, Volvo - over and above any and all other incentives. CHA CHING!
I took that certificate with me the next day, slapped it down on the finance guy's desk and said "keep the change ..."
And drove off without handing them a check.
YES!
Thanks Ford, we love you!

Total blind luck coincidence. I'm guessing that Ford bought some mailing list that showed lease expiry dates (my Acura lease on my 3.2 TL ends next week), and sent those out. That it came the day before I was picking up my new car is pure divine providence.

ANY Deal - lease or purchase.
The target audience was clearly owners of premium luxury/performance cars. My buddy driving a BMW also got one, and my buddy that had a Bonneville did not. All our cars go off lease in October.
