Just went by COMP USA in Alpharetta GA and there were three in the parking lot.
Including mine.

Last year this would have never happened.

I don't know why it bugs me so much, but just an FYI, unique means the only one of its kind. The rx8 never has been, and never will be, unique I see them all the time, just as often as 350Z's and way more frequently than the STI.

I see the 350z and sti more...the G35 about the same. I see a lot more camery's then all of them combined...what was the point again?

It's almost a mathmatic impossibility to see more STis than RX-8s, but I did say almost I don't remember where you live Klegg but I would imagine for those of us in more wintery parts of the country will be seeing a lot of RX-8s crawling out of the woodwork very soon.
One could also argue that the RX-8 is unique because it is the only rotary car being produced. But rare that a pretty tough one, uncommon... sure, if you compare it to a Camry.

Well if the other dealerships are using the same methods to sell cars as my local guy, then its no wonder that sales are down. This guy pissed away a sale for 500 extra bucks. Dont lie after the deal has been made.
yeah, thats a great car, im sure you'll enjoy it alot, tuning it will be a lot of fun :D.
a nice small high torue and high responsive turbo setup would rock for street(the 4wd japanese cars have great power potential)

I think BlueEyes is trying to keep his post count at 999. At his usual rate, this is the slowest I've seen him posting :p

In terms of numbers in my area, Evo > STi > RX-8. Not what anyone would predict, but there it is. I'm almost getting tired of seeing Evos at this point, lol. Evos are downright common, STi's now and then, RX-8's hardly ever.

One thing I find annoying is the 8 doesn't seem to show up on the radar of Evo and STi drivers. I TRY to give them a thumbs up, "nice car" wave... but nooooo, they're too good for me apparently, lol. Won't even look. Dang turbo heads.

Well, and evo or sti owner knows they can spank us in a stright line...so why bother.

I have only seen a handful of evos in SJ..but I spent a long time talking to a guy in a parking lot who had one. Nice guy, seems to really like the 8.

One more to the post count...soon I will be at 1,000...do I get a gold watch?

San Francisco

I live in downtown San Francisco not far from the Financial District where I work. In both neighborhoods I'm surprised by the number of very expensive foreign cars. Even the SUVs include high numbers of Mercedes Benz, Lexus, and Porsche.

Lots of sports / sporty cars, probably mostly Mercedes Benz, BMW (Z3 and Z4), GS 350, 350Z, and of course Miata. Can't go a block without seeing (at least in these high-income area) multiple Mercedez Benz, Porsches, etc.

Rarely see another RX-8. The ratio of 350Z to RX-8 is amazingly high. Also, lots of WRX (though less common than the other models), so go figure. I'm shocked at how many people here spend SO much money on nice cars. After all, this isn't Beverly Hills and SF isn't known as a car-culture city.

I don't know about where you live, but here in NY I see many WRX/STI, S2Ks and Zs. I see very few RX8s. As for the Evo, now those I don't see that often.

In So Cal it seems expensive cars are dime a dozen.

there's plenty of 8's here but they're still *relatively* rare. I would say
G35 > IS300 > 350Z > RX-8 > S2000 > STi > Evo > SRT-4 (yep, I've only seen 2 so far) in terms of what I see.

It's funny, I told a friend of mine "I think I see at least one Porsche a day". Well, actually I think I see at least 3 Porsches a day during a 10 mile commute. Last weekend I went to get something to eat about 8 miles away. I noticed
* 2 Audi S4s
* 2 BMW M3s
* 1 Viper
* 1 Ferrari

Geez, that day was absurd. I've seen a lambo on the road once too near the 55/405 interchange.

As for the uniqueness... the car is still unique in that it has a unique engine and suicide doors. but yeah unless sales of it starts to suffer, you'll probably see quite a few on the road. I mean it is a relatively cheap car that reviewers love so I wouldn't be surprised to see many on the road.

I don't know about you guys, but the more 8 the better. I mean the more of us 8 owners in the road the more aftermarket parts for us. And ya I've noticed that some evo, wrx, sti seems to look down at me when I'm rolling with my 8 even though I'm not provoking anything.

Last week some guy at Wahoo's asked about my Volk rims and after I left, I heard him say something to his friend "he should have bought turbo for his 8 cuz he needs it" Being my house is only a block away I took my turbo car and waxed his ***.
