rx8 question

i just got my rx8 (2004) its an auto with sports packge, seems like it should run better than it does. trying to find out the quickness of it. should i be able to burn out when i punch it? if anyone can help just explain how a auto should run. thanks

I haven't driven an auto, but I kinda doubt you can do that. Your torque numbers are going to be something like 120 tq at the wheels. It also has a great deal to do with how high you can get the rpms before you engage 1st gear.

They say it runs 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. I doubt it does unless you have awesome automatic tranny launching skills.

burn out? this is the auto rx8 here, and the 04-05 lower power one. it wont burn out, i have one and it just doesn't happen. still love it though

You're best bet is to get rid of the engine/tranny or buy a manual 8

^I dont think that's the problem, It's that he cant launch it from high revs so he doesn't have enough power to make any wheel spin.

exactly, even holding the brakes doesnt help.
