RX8 Rental Car???
Somebody just pulled in front of my Jeep Wrangler Last night and I smashed up her mini-van pretty good. The Jeep is barely scratched except for the hood latches shearing off. I'm trying to retire the jeep to weekend warrior status and shift into an RX8 full time. That probably won't happen until fall, but in the meantime does anyone know where I can get an RX8 for a rental car while they're fixing up my Jeep?
The wife drives a 3 and I talked my mom into a Miata two years ago. We love our Mazdas!

Some places chrage $200 a day for a rental RX8... for that kinda money you'd be better off financing one and actually keep what you pay for.
Getting a rental isnt a bad idea, but an RX8 as a rental is a foolish waste of money if you ask me.
Also, if you DO find an RX8 for rent, it will most likely be an AT.. and that defeats the purpose of driving an 8, doesnt it?

There might be a limit as to how much her insurance is willing to pay, so you need to check that out first. I mean if the skies the limit, there are places that will rent you Ferraris.

Definitely check the limit. When my mom's Tribute was in the shop the girl's insurance only allowed for $15 a day, which didn't cover anything they had!!! My mom's insurance covered for $30, but they weren't the ones that were supposed to pay. After a ton of arguing she got a $23 a day Kia covered for about three weeks. My insurance rental limit is $40, as that is what the insurance assigned as being a comparable value vehicle to mine.

They're insurance rents through Enterprise. Here are my choices for the allowance:
Dodge Neon, Kia Rio, Chevrolet Aveo,Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Focus, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Pontiac Vibe, Chevrolet HHR, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, Hyundai Sonata
What a bunch of garbage. I asked the reservation rep if they had anything fun and she just laughed. On an interesting side note, I realized this might be an opportunity to move into an RX8 sooner than later. I use the Jeep as a daily, but am frequently rock crawling in the AZ desert. After all the mods I've put into it, it's better suited for offroad than on. I've got a few minor body damage trophy's from Moab, Colorado and the 5+ trails around here, so a little body damage doesn't bother me one bit. I might just take the insurance payout and jump into some rotary fun!
Any AZ sellers around?

If it's the other person's fault, they or their insurance have to pay to keep you in a car. Insurance companies have standards for this (generally $25-$30 a day), but as the one on the receiving end, I'd negotiate for the whatever covers keeping me in a similar car. For a Jeep Wrangler, I think they charge a premium, so $40 would probably be fair.

It is hard to find a rental Mazda and even harder to find anything with a stick -
You might find a place that will do a Corvette or a Mustang but make sure the insurance company will really cover the cost - often when you check it out they may only do a midsized - check the fine print
