RX8 or RX7 ?

I'll take the 8....
But, I'd LOVE to see the 7 back... with a RENESIS... I can't see why not... emissions would be the same and turbo's can come later if really necessary... but I'd prefer to see a 3 rotor RENESIS than a 2 rotor turbo.

even though this survey is over, i gotta say that my interest in the rx8 is purely for the rotary engine. the fact that its practical (ie: 4 seats) only helps me justify buying it, but if i were to live in a fantasy realm, then the rx7 is definitely the way to go. bottom line is i think it looks better. however, i havent driven either the 3rd gen rx7 or the rx8 (obviously) so i cant compare handling, but i think its quite probable that the rx8 would be better in this department. thus, like rich said, if mazda offered a car that looked more like the rx7, but was based on the lighter and better weight-distributed rx8, then i'd go with that. also, as always, the extra torque of the rx7 would be nice.

hey evolv!! quit flaming my dream car!! the second gen 7 was the best looking Japanese car of the eighties, hands down!! (well, okay, the 300zx was designed in 1989, but i really count that as a '90s car...)
how could you say that "it sucked" man?? okay, it looks blocky, and plain, and the fron tend of the NAs was crappy when you compare it with the airdam of the series 5 turbos, but c'mon!! look at any honda for god's sake!! it was a beautiful car for its time, and i think that's the only way you'd be able to analyse something so subjective in a more objective way...
oh styjan, btw...
already posted a congrats note under the "mazda 95 rx7" thread (or where ever it was you told us first), but i'll say it again...
<<drooling>>
if it coulda been anyone Styjan, man it would have to be you!!
wicked car, keep it forever!!

However, I think the 2nd gen convertible was by far the nicest looking rag top available in the late 80's after which the Miata took over.
give me 7, then I'm in heaven!
give me 8 and I won't be late!
