ANYWAY.........enough of the mud slinging guys.......I still would like to know how you had the compression test done, or where it was done?
I'm only asking because no compression(meaning zero) is sometimes a false reading from what I've read. That's why I ask. I'm fairly new to this car as well, and I'm not trying to get your hopes up, but I wanna make sure it's really toast.
Did you take it to Boniface and have them do the test?
Unlike the others chiming in, I have read your other thread when you both were trying to figure oout what your issue really was. I know you got a lot of miles, but still wanna be sure.......as I'm sure you do as well.

Oh i know i'll go far in life thanks for letting me know :] sweet of you!
anyways enough of that, back to the car....
one of my friends is a macanic and he came over with a compression thing and hooked it into the two leading plugs, one read 60 and one read 30...
i wish it would just start and have been like a hiccup...but i dont think it is....

try to see about getting your car to just run... just enough to get it to a dealer and use it as a trade-in on newer 8. If you're lucky you might get a couple grand to put towards an 11-13 thousand one.

Honestly, Rachlayyy8, from the way you described it as not starting, it kind of sounds like the engine flooded, and now it won't startup, which could also cause the compression test to come out funky. I'm not trying to give you hope, but talk to your mechanic friend that came over and ask him/her if that *might* be the problem. De-flooding the engine is not a hard task for a mechanic to do on the rotary, and if that is the case, you may be back up and running really quickly and not have to sell your ride just yet.
It's just a thought... Here's to hoping it works out for the good!

Thank you!!! Im calling the mazda shop tomorrow and seeing how much it would cost me to have it towed to the shop and then run all the test so i can know exactly whats wrong with it and go from there... I really dont want to get rid of it just yet i feel like with a little TLC it could be pretty much good as new but we will see what happens... Thanks again...

Oh, your a lady, sorry I should have cut you some slack. My bad. I think the pics do more damage in terms of trying to sell. Get the car cleaned up and then take new pics, the pics you posted scream run away. NOT BASHING, just constructive advise. You should also not jump to conclusions, have a qualified mechanic who has worked on Rotary's look at it.
Do you have the DVD that came with the RX8? The vid shows you how to deflood. Trust me, it may take a few times to complete the process, just make sure you have a battery charger and a decent battery.

Have you tried the deflooding procedure in the owners manual? It's on page 7-20, and basically you hold the gas to the floor and try and start the car for up to ~10 seconds at a time, releasing the gas if it starts.
If that doesn't work, here are the steps that Mazda would take to diagnose it. http://www.finishlineperformance.com...5-08-1883f.pdf
If your mechanic friend can remove the spark plugs, might be worth trying before the $100+ trip to Mazda for them to do it. Obviously, if the motor has issues this probably won't do a thing, worth a try if you haven't done at least the owner's manual procedure though. If the battery is drained from trying to start it a lot you might need to charge it or jump it, as well, in order to try.

ive read both threads of your problems, my car did the exact same thing didnt know what was up with it. Tried the deflooding procedure and everything, apparently i didnt do it right? lol thats exactly what it was, it was flooded the mazda dealership told me to deflood it and replace the plugs as they were gone would cost $397...i asked is the car running now? and what if i dont get the plugs? $91.50 he said. Turn around went the Advance got the plugs there for a lil under $90, and plan on putting them in tomorrow... so i saved my car and about $200 hopefully you will find some similar luck!

did they say like how their so cold speical process was for deflooding it? because when i called and i talked to them they wouldnt tell me how to do it "their way" and i was like look i dont have the money to bring the car to the shop can you please just tell me and they wouldnt...and i dont feel like going there and paying 100 for something i or my boyfriend could do...

This is what the dealer is going to do. As you read this, you can kinda of see that the below is a variation on this.
http://www.finishlineperformance.com...5-08-1883f.pdf
Now......there are some alternate ways to do this.
One is to tow start the vehicle, but if you have an automatic, that's no good.
Another way.....(and you need a good battery for this) is to have the BF pull the spark plugs out(inspect them while they are out...get them nice and dry).
Re-install them.
Make sure the plug wires are on real good at this point.
Pull the fuel pump relay(which is in the fuse box under the hood).
Have someone crank the engine(you) and when it starts, have your BF re-install the fuel pump relay quickly!
Now.......this assumes that your plugs, coils, and wires are all okay. But I think in your other thread(or this one), you all had been replacing those right? Even if your plugs are new........take them out and inspect and for sure get them dry.

Okay.......let's re-iterate here.
Rachael(at least I'm guessing it might be), most of us on here just want to be sure that your motor is really toast. We know you have a lot of miles on it and supposedly some mechanic said you had low compression. We also know you are a college student and have little money. I put two girls through college, so I know that drill.
So......I guess we need to re-group and I need to ask the following questions.
When the mechanic that came over and said it had low compression..........did it ever start at that time?
Did he ever get it running?
Does it start now?
I'm not challenging his abilities, remember.......I just want to be sure your car is REALLY toast.
What all has been changed out and when since your initial no start problem?
In what order where they changed if you can recall?
I think most of us just want o make sure that the car isn't really extremely flooded. Then we can move on to whether or not the motor is really gone.
As you know, I am local and not sure I can afford to get involved to the level at which you may need, but I do have an extra Scangauge that we could hook up (once running preferably) and see what we can tell. I don't think anybody wants you to spend a lot of money, especially at a dealer........but we also don't want you to give up on the car until it's really confirmed. So.........if you are really tired of the car, AND believe the previous person that looked at it knew what he was doing, then go ahead and get rid of it. Just don't wanna see you make a mistake, it's that simple. You can PM me with info about where you are, or what you guys have done to this point if you'd rather and I will try to help where I can.

To bad it is an auto or I would come pick it up. If you really need help with the car and want some advice from someone who really knows their stuff contact Kevin@rotaryresurrection.com. I would offer to let you call me but I dont have a lot of experience with the RX8s, just the 3rd gens. If you drop the price a little lower let me know as I will likely come pick the car up.

Yep its Rachael...
when he came over it didnt start at the time its been almost a month since ive gotten it to start...he didnt get it running and it doesnt start now...i dont feel like any one is challenging his abilities...and i could love to know whats wrong with it exactly and im hoping its not completely dead...
first we changed the plugs and wires... then got another set of wires, then got new coils and put those on...then got another new set of plugs...then got the crank pisition sensor thing...and since then i havent spend any more money on it...thats the order we did it in also...before we changed the plugs and wires we sea foamed it...other then that nothings been done....after we changed the plugs and wires the first time it ran...i drove it maybe 300miles then let it sit for a day came home to drive it, it didnt work...ill take any advice right now...
weve tried like a thousand times taking the plugs out and cleaning them...nothing seems to be working...again im at my wits end...
