Great buy, man! You were scaring us there for a minute. The looks of these were shocking at first but I've actually come to like them. Love the dark wheels. Congrats.

The STI is much more practical, instead of 1-2 inches of clearance above my head I have 6-8inchs (some of that was because of the sunroof sure which I’ll miss), my son can get in and buckle himself now since he has his own door and there is no center console, the step in height is higher (its no mini-van for ease of entry but no worse than any sedan) so its easier for everyone to get in, and I can fit stuff in the rear. I’ll be stuffing 4 summer tires in there come tomorrow, and two kids. I’ll trash bag them and have to put one in the front seat probably.

It came with the short shifter, ipod adapter (not the best setup), side moldings, wheel locks, dimming mirror/compass (I’ll need to swap out for a homelink unit) and a stupidly expensive titanium shift **** which I would never have spent money on.

Going to wait about a year of so and pick up an access port and either a Harman Motive (not sure if they will be around) or Magnaflow exhaust. May eventually do a downpipe and an intake and then get a custom tune but we’ll see. Its fast enough for me now although I’ve been a bit easy on it as you might imagine.

wow i kinda did the opposite of you. my summer car was/is a 1980 rx7. my winter car was a crown vic. my buddy smashed in to my vic and totaled it when he pulled in to my drive way drunk one night so i had to buy a new winter car. i was going to buy a old wrx or any other car from them that was awd. a little beater for the winter you know . but some how i wound up buying a 05 rx8 i know i know not the smartest thing to do but iam used to driving cars like this in the snow.

Interesting, congrats.

I have a 5-speed turbocharged Forester. So much fun in second gear.

Except I'm thinking about doing the opposite of you...going from a turbo'd AWD "wagon" to an RX-8.

Nice. I might return to Subaru since I had a JDM STi years ago. It was never the same since they came out with the bugeye. Subaru just lost its 'magic' for me. I could still remember when Subaru brought their 22b over to the US for demo. It was heaven. Grats!

congrats! Although I'm not a big fan of Hatch's, I think the car looks great. And since you have a family, I can see your reasoning behind it. AWD is a big plus. Enjoy!!

Looks nice, if you are into that whole "practicality, convenience, and compatibility with a family" thing.

No, seriously, it's a nice looking ride. I wouldn't call it ugly. It is a little station wagon-ish, but not too much.

Just got it yesterday afternoon so don’t have pics so full disclosure, I’m stealing a few of Roksax’s photos from his member gallery as I got the exact same thing more or less and these are the best pics I’ve seen of it (hope you don’t mind Roksax).

And look RX8-like rims!

Uglier version of speed3, but I like AWD and Subaru's are great cars. Congrats on ur purchase I hope you enjoy. BTW HP will be easier and less expensive to achieve!!!!

That's also exactly the car I'd have gotten too if it weren't for the RX-8. The RX-8 is just so much hotter. You can impress the guys with a WRX, but you can impress the girls with an RX-8 I guess that's not really an issue for you, so way to go!
