on a racetrack TL wont have a hoping chance unless the guy who drives the RX8 is a completely idiot.

DUDE! You've asked for an opinion, and whenever someone has given it, you argue and say we're wrong! WTF??? The general consensus is that you'll lose. I could be wrong, but the only REAL noticeable power adders to the 8 is a turbo... I am to understand everything else is definitely in the single-digit HP gains. So stop whining when people tell you that it doesn't matter how much money you've put into your mods. I still don't think you'll beat the TL-S. (*unless you're on a road-coarse, and a better driver than him*)

Seriously why does it matter if u can beat a tl type s. Listen there will always be cars faster than others. There are cars faster than the 8. And there are also faster cars than the Tl type s. This car isn't a 0-60 car. This car has amazing handling. Who gives a **** if it can't beat a tl type s. Just fkn drive your car, mod it, enjoy it. Why do you fkn care if it can beat this or that. That's gonna make you hate your car in the end. Just appreciate the 8 for what it offers. You keep asking if it can beat a tl type s when people keep saying itt won't. Just accept it bro. The TL has the potential to go higher... it just needs the limiter disabled. In most instances, that limiter wont even matter. In a quarter mile, the acceleration isn't good enough in either car to hit 130. A lot of tracks don't have straights long enough to hit 130.

Plus, the TL will get there faster. So in that aspect, the TL is faster. The TL will put a fair amount of distance between the 2 of you and be waiting for you to catch up.

Not bashing the 8 or overly applauding the TL here, but want to make the point a bit clearer. The TL has to limit itself in order for you to beat it. It's more than capable of continuing on, but it limits itself which is the only reason you'll eventually pass it.

Top speed is irrelevant in almost all situations aside from bragging rights. Drag strips measure acceleration, not top speed. Your top speed doesn't matter if you dont need/are unable to reach it.

 

Also forgot to comment on the choice of nitrous... I hate to derail this thread, but I hope you've done your research on nitrous and know what you're doing before you buy it and install it. If not, I don't think you'll be very happy with the results.

Out of curiosity... How old are you?

 

My daily driver is a 2006 TL-S 6 speed, and as much as I hate to say it, the TL blows the doors off of my 8 with more mods than yours. My advice is don’t waste your time.
